A very comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We've stayed here before and only found two very minor faults this time. 1st the lift had broken down (of course no fault of the owners) so we had to haul our luggage up two flights to the top floor and 2nd, on the three mornings we sat for breakfast there were no fried eggs on offer, only scrambled. A great place to stay within easy reach of the town centre and worth checking out if you're looking for accommodation in the area.

The good points first, the hotel is clean, food good but limited menu ie at breakfast only scrambled eggs ie evening meal ie starter soup or fruit juice. Main meat or fish or salad. Rooms no bedside tables but very clean with a good number of 3 pin points. We stayed for 5days and for all that time the lift was out of order SADLY THESE THINGS HAPPEN. would I stay there again yes

Staff is lovely especially the girls! Although it is quite unsettling how handsy one of the Male workers are on the poor waitresses. They are visibly unsettled and unnerved by it which is very disappointing to see. Also very uncomfortable seeing rather older men flirt and make inappropriate comments towards a visible young girl. Will not be staying here again in the future. STAY AWAY!

Went to Cornwall for the weekend with Gibbons coaches, staying at Sandy Lodge Hotel, Newquay. We had a very efficient check in and the staff were kind and helpful. The room was good, large enough, warm enough with a large bathroom. They had a 2 for 1 offer at the bar which we took advantage of. The first night we had cash bingo and then male singers on the last 2 nights, the Sunday night man was very, very good.

The restaurant was very efficient with little or no waiting to be served and we were looked after really well by the friendly staff. The food was extra special, beautifully cooked with lots of choice. Much better than the food we normally have on coach trips. We can't praise the staff enough, they were all a real credit to the hotel, we hope to go again. Also special thanks to Barry our coach driver who helped us with a smile and some awful jokes.

Stayed here through majestic holidays from the 21st of April to the 25th April. Self drive but we travelled down there by train. This was also an excellent service by GWR. On time and no delays. Many thanks. Not disappointed at all with the Sandy Lodge. Service was excellent as always from the reception, rooms and the bar (2 4 1) also the food as always was very good as well as the service. Special thanks to Christine and all of the lovely staff involved. Looking forward to the next visit and would highly recommend.

I loved my stay at sandy Lodge, and will be revisiting in the near future. Staff work extremely hard, to make you welcome, and cater to your needs. Food is lovely, served by friendly staff, who also go the extra mile. Many fellow guests said that they will return, and in some cases, are regular visitors. Thanks to all at sandy Lodge.

The receptionist was lovely & very welcoming, however I thought I was in a scene from 'League Of Gentlemen', it was the 3rd November and Christmas celebrations were underway, very surreal. My room just like other comments, could do with being updated, the shower was a trickle, anyone would think I was on the top floor of the empire state building on low pressure (no exaggeration), I nearly pulled the shower controls off the wall switching them on, as they were that loose they were poorly fitted, the only saving grace was that there was good WiFi reception, the radiators worked, and that I could make a cuppa after such a long day, the walls could certainly do with a 'lick of paint', even the lighting in the room was far from being ambient & calming, my garage lighting is more soothing that my room was, it was either illuminate either end of the room with a blindingly bright light or have no light on and see nothing, there's no in between, really liked the pull cord over the bed lol, at first I thought it might of been a 'panic cord' just in case I needed assistance during the night. All in all I found my room uninviting and very cold (not in the heat sense).

Food was fair, entertainment was good for the first two nights then rubbish for the 3th night, my wife and myself bed was very noisy getting in and out of bed with the springs and the floors boards along the passage way and room was shocking holes in the floor boards, so many not screws down and the heating pipes making the radiator rattle bang, paper thin wall.

Why could the floors have not been done better with a ply covering this could have been sorted out and things could have been so much better for every one, staff was very nice other than that we had a good time.

Bar staff very helpful, receptionist were welcoming apart from the Male staff with lots of ear piecing, he appeared annoyed from his tone of voice. Toilet don't flush properly and shower is either hot or cold unable to adjust with correct temp. Booked two room same price however one was small whilst the other one was more spacious with a balcony. There is no wifi in the rooms only communal places.

Staff were lovely on arrival however the room was dated no hangers, had to turn sideways to fit into the toilet as everything was crammed into one tiny space, carpets were stained all the way through and on way to room looked like they were taking us out the back to a room out of the way people upstairs and next door to us noisy all night from drinking in the bar. Swimming pool and gym told they were closed all through the holiday. I would not say this hotel is worth 130.00 a night I even decided to leave one day early and was offered no refund for the extra night I did not stay.

Firstly I acknowledge that the place is a bit old but my review is based on my experience despite that, and that of my family as a whole. My children loved this hotel. Amazingly friendly and hardworking staff. The food went down well with a selection that meant there was something for even my fussiest child. Special mention to Otterly(spelling?) In the restaurant and the hilarious bingo dude.

The two blonde ladies behind the bar were chatty and great hosts of an evening. The entertainment was really good too. I have paid much more money for much worse experiences time and time again. The Sandy Lodge Hotel will get a revisit from us and our boys because like I said our experience is what made our holiday, the people who run this hotel make that happen and no amount of money can buy that kind of set up it's in the people themselves not in fancy surroundings. Keep it up please, and we hope to be back again next year!
