When we first came to Monk End we came to farm, it was another 4 years before we even contemplated offering accommodation. In the early years we threw ourselves into building up a successful 200 sow breeding heard. It was in 1988 that we first ventured into bed and breakfast (during one of the periodic downturns in pig prices) My wife taught full time in Middlesbrough at the time,and initially only intended to offer accommodation during the summer, however autumn came and we carried on, we enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life and from all over the world and to cap it all they paid us!

Absolutely great stay at clow beck house the rooms are very nice and clean, the location is excellent for a quiet stay and the couple who run the place are excellent hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The food is great and they will cater to any changes to the menu if you'd like to change a dish. I Definitely recommend this place especially for couples and will be staying here again in the future.

Really comfortable rooms, superb environment, lovely dinner and breakfast and great hosts. Unlike many hidden gems like this place with lovely home cooked meals you don't pay through the nose for dinner. A two course meal is easily achieved for 25. As I left to the normal "hope we see you again" I replied that I can't see why I would stay anywhere else. And I meant it.

We stayed over with the tamily for a wedding around 2 months ago. The rooms and decor are on par with a 5 star grand Hotel. The bed was lush to sleep in with feather pillows. Amenities include filter coffee, handmade shortbreads, ferrero rocher chocolates, mango juice and the usual filter coffee, tea. Fantastic country scenery and beautifully maintained gardens. Dinning Hall is comfy and inviting, big enough to have a party in.
Breakfast was very well made I'd imagine it's all sourced locally. If you love your full English with great sausage and the choices of omelettes, crossiants then this where to order it. Stayed here with friends last night as we were racing at croft circuit. From arrival to departure i can honestly say this place is first class. The owners we so friendly and helpful nothing was a problem. The house and rooms were exceptionaly clean. This place is not to be missed. 100% we will be staying here next year and will be looking farward to it.
