The Pier Hotel features in lots of old photographs and postcards of Gorleston. Built on the site of the old Anchor and Hope fishermen's pub and completed in 1897, it was part of a flurry of development in Gorleston towards the end of the Victorian.

Services
Take our location, for example. We're just a few metres from one of Britain's top-rated sandy beaches, close to the entrance of a historic harbour and at the heart of an unspoilt resort that never fails to charm visitors. The beautiful Broads and the fine city of Norwich are close by. The Pier Hotel has 21 gorgeous bedrooms, a bright, elegant restaurant, a spacious lounge bar and popular wine bar.
Our south-facing bedrooms overlook Gorleston beach, a broad swathe of golden sand that the 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards placed eighth in its top-ten UK beaches category. Our guests get to experience a glorious sunrise before anyone else in the country and film director Danny Boyle, who stayed with us for a month, described the beach as "one of the great secrets of England."
Gorleston Golf Club is famous for being the most Easterly Course in the British Isles. The course lies on top of the cliffs ( which can be seen from the Pier Hotel ) with constant spectacular views over the North Sea. The course is gently undulating and playable by all abilities. The coastal breezes, small greens and excellent condition provide a classic sea side challenge.

There's something for everyone on our menu from sandwiches and snacks to classic meat and fish dishes.

Really enjoyed our nostalgic Jubilee stay at the Pier Hotel with genuine warmth, sense of occasion and superb service. Everything has a quality feel and purpose reflecting the accolade as Yesterday filmset and has even got 2 EV chargers outside. Recommended with super view along the golden sands of Gorleston.

We had a great stay here last year despite the gale force winds. This year with full sun on our balcony it is even better. The quality of our suite stands comparison with some of the best hotels we have stayed in round the World especially for the price. If I have a complaint it is that the portions served in the restaurant are huge.

Absolutely phenomenal! Food was lush, fresh and gorgeous. The staff accommodated to your every need. TREATED LIKE KINGS AND QUEENS! The staff where helpful and friendly. They made up desserts for us that were not on the menus. Truly the best I've ever been treated in a restaurant my whole life. Outstanding completely and utterly sensational. The only possible downside is the dated decor however I find it quite interesting and unique. Would definitely recommend. THEY HAVE REAL MAYONNAISE!

I spent 4 comfortable nights staying at this friendly hotel brilliantly located on Gorleston-on-Sea seafront. All the staff were chatty, professional and helpful, from housekeeping to the Management. I enjoyed a good choice of well prepared food both at breakfast and for my evening meals. I am returning again very soon for another stress free stay by the sea.

A great hotel with well trained staff. Fully recommend having a pot of tea and a cake here, as it's very reasonable and comes in silver teapots with hot water etc. Good place to work on a laptop as there is free wifi and plug points. Food is good but quite expensive, nice restaurant and tables outside overlooking the beach. Art Deco themed throughout with some lovely original features. I haven't stayed in the rooms so can't comment on them.

Arrived today for 4 nights, first of all the welcome we got off hayley was incredible, nothing was any trouble for her, evening meal my husband said was the best he has ever had and believe me it must have been and I had to agree as mine was beautiful, my husband had the steak pie and I had the hunters chicken worth travelling from Manchester for the day just for that lol we are very very impressed with our first day and looking forward to our next 3, we have had pub's and b@bs and I would have given anything to have someone like hayley x

We popped into the Pier Hotel for lunch. Service was prompt and cheerful. The mushroom, garlic and herb soup was so flavoursome and delicious. It was only let down by the mediocre pre-sliced bread that was served up with it (which is why I didn't give 5 stars). Such a tasty soup deserved a rustic roll, or home made bread.
