Penventon Park Hotel

Visited here to have Coffee and Catch up with Friends. I've been here several times over the past 8/10 year's for different Events, it's always a pleasure to go to. Staff are always pleasant and polite, and the Hotel is wonderful, with beautiful gardens and trees, & also plenty of parking. Hotel is accessible to Wheelchair users which is a plus. I've not been in the rooms recently, but I know they're fabulous having had my Wedding Reception in the Lady Edith Suite many years ago, and stayed overnight.

Restaurant is beautiful too. plenty of room for everyone. Penventon is local to me so anyone who asks me for a fab Hotel I always recommend this one to them, as it's situated ideally for everywhere.

From the reception to the farewell we felt welcomed. The room was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. We stayed when there was an event on, but we heard nothing from our room. The food wow, what else can I say it was delicious. The waiting staff were attentive but not hoovering like some places. If you stay, the pool and spa area are a must visit.

Friendly staff and all very well maintained. Of course we went to the bar, we were on a mini break after all. The bar manager was a joy as were the rest of the staff and the drinks were fantastic. The whole stay however fleeting was brilliant and we cannot wait to come again and stay longer.

Hotel is lovely. Food and drink were ok. Ensuite was lovely, amazing shower! Room was just right. Bar staff leave a lot to be desired. I found them rude and unwilling. Whilst staying there the bars closed 12, usually as a resident you should be able to stay up for drinks. We felt all but ushered out. So if you're staying here, be ready for an early night.

We stayed here 2 nights, and found it excellent. The Afternoon Tea was very good, and value for money. Lovely meals in the restaurant, and all the staff, from our arrival to our departure were most attentive and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay

Staff were lovely, superior rooms spacious, well presented and clean. Food was good except for the steak which for the price was poorly presented compared to the rest of the menu. Such a shame hotel residents are unable to relax in hotel lounge as tables reserved for spa days and day visitors (should be reserved in restaurant) and you cannot sit in bar if you are a group of more than two, our bar bill was therefore very restricted which is very unusual for a hotel of this size so spent more time in room than would have liked.

Actual spa treatments good but facilities need upgrading. Most loungers around pool and spa facilities used by day visitors at weekend disappointing for hotel residents especially having spent in total 1000 for two night stay for 4.

I visited The Penventon Park hotel with friends back in January to celebrate my Birthday. I love everything about the hotel, from the decor to the warm hospitality and welcome. I feel the need to Congratulate everyone of your staff members for the impeccable, high class of service. Top quality, nothing was too much trouble, everyone was so friendly and your chefs deserve an applause for our delicious meal. Well done to you all, keep up the good work and we will definitely be back again.

Fantastic hotel. Character, great food, brilliant service, attention to detail that you'll never find in a chain. I had been told how good the Penventon was and they not only lived up to the hype, it was exceeded. Really, really looking forward to staying again. Thank you all.

Had a very nice meal once again. We have been many times on different occasion, always pleased with the setting and staff. Only one thing was table next to us was sneakily using a vapour, think this should not happen. Overall pleased.

What a fantastic hotel to stay in, my only complaint was that we were only there for 1 night, wish we could stay a week! The room was absolutely stunning, and spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. It really was a little bit of luxury in a lovely family run hotel. Thank you

Went for lunch. Ordered Scampi, didn't get Scampi instead had some white fish dressed up as Scampi. Only six pieces of that and SEVEN CHIPS. My wife had the chicken supreme which was supposed to be accompanied with seasonal vegetables, one stem of broccoli and two thin slices of mushroom is what she got. Lovely surroundings and good service but such a shame it was spoiled by the food. Won't be troubling them again especially at those prices.

Came for a meal with Family for my birthday, didn't stay but was impressed with staff friendliness, however when it came to the meal this was disappointing for a couple of reasons. Firstly the menu was poor and not even close to what was advertised on the website and was advised the website menu was a sample menu. No where visible on the website did it mention this, also food is way over priced and poorly presented.

The steak was cooked ok, blue cheese sauce was week and at 30 felt ripped off. The pudding menu was poor unless you wanted a Christmas pudding of mulled pear or mulled fruits I would have rated 2 stars but your staff pushed it up to 3. I wouldn't come here again at 165 for 4 meals, 2 starters and 4 drinks.

Wonderful place food is superb and the staff go above and beyond for you and the new year party was excellent will go there again and again cannot wait for the next trip there

Our first time staying here. We stayed in one of the dog friendly rooms and we were delighted with the decor and layout. Lovely patio for our dog to explore. The hotel was really busy but staff always took the time to say hello and we didn't feel overwhelmed with too many people in a room. Separate eating area if you have a dog and it felt like a lovely exclusive louge just for us. The breakfast was fast and delicious. We definitely plan to go again.

Went to a works Xmas evening meal. Traditional turkey roast well it was not very nice at all I had two bits of turkey roll a few roast potatoes hard carrot's and hard spouts. And a small circle of stuffing. Frozen Xmas pudding which was done in a microwave with a hint of brandy sauce. The whole meal was very poor. Would not go there again and most certainly would not recommend to anyone who liked food.

Just wonderful, I had a lovely relaxing couple of hours, I find it quiter during the day when not to much people. I had the chance of using everything there witch that was great, even had a lovely cup of tea made for me.

Second visit to this restaurant. Food excellent. Staff well trained and very helpful and polite. One niggle. Booked table for 6pm, arrived at 5.50. Asked to wait in bar as kitchen staff not yet ready. We didn't want to wait in bar as very full and difficult to distance. We then noticed other guests being seated. Had to stand outside main doors. Felt rather like we were being made to wait so hotel guests were seated first. However, it was a very enjoyable meal.

Attended for spa day, the spa facilities weren't the best as no steam room, changing rooms were old and all needs makeover. Treatment was lovely and very relaxing. Had to pay for teas/coffees/juices which should be included in a spa package. Wouldn't revisit unless the spa was revamped. The hotel itself seemed nice and the lunch which was included was very nice.

The staff and service was really very good. The food is exceptional and due to not being well I asked for a change on the menu. The team were not only completely obliging but so well executed. We had a few issues with the rooms but each were dealt with very quickly. Thank you to the housekeeping team who cut up a towel to make me face clothes to bath my skin cancer. So kind and touching. We will be back

Great place for baby shower. Staff were excellent. Afternoon tea was delicious. Couldn't ask for better. Decorations were our own but only to happy to help with the balloon garland.

Wonderful afternoon tea want for nothing asked if you need anything and treated like royalty a very special time to thank my husband for taking care of me while I was ill with covid. In all a very lovely afternoon. Thank you again.x
