I am not entirely sure the pictures reflect the reality exactly, although, admittedly we had a non- sea facing room. On the plus side the place is very clean and neat and the staff are really good. On the flip side, I thought the place could do with a bit of a mordern upgrade, fewer creaky floorboards, bigger lift, better doors and perhaps newer carpeting. Even though our experience wasn't bad I did not think that the place was worth the price we paid.

Stayed here as part of a coach holiday package having been on a similar one with the same company last year but to the Isle of Wight staying at the Trouville Hotel in Sandown. We were sadly very disappointed this time having higher expectations than we experienced there. The staff were great but the food was well below the standard we previously enjoyed and our room was basic to say the least compared to others which cost the same. Speaking to other members of the party we weren't the only ones disillusioned to find the reality didn't match the expectations the brochure portrayed. We certainly wouldn't book another "Turkey and Tinsel" at this venue! Sorry!

We stayed here over the August bank holiday weekend. The hotel is on King Edwards Parade, and right opposite the beach. The location is awesome because you just need to cross the road to reach the beach. The staff were all friendly and polite and there was a domestic who was just the sweetest person ever! Our room and the hotel in general was spotlessly clean.
The breakfast was not included in the stay and guests need to notify the hotel in advance if they need breakfast the next day. There are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby so we didn't have the hotel breakfast which was priced at 15 pp. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because the inside of the hotel was overall a bit aged. The furniture and bathroom fittings looked and worked like they were from the eighties.
I suppose some of them can give off a quaint, old-fashioned vibe, like having actual keys to the rooms (you get fined if you lose or forget to return the key on checking out), and bibles in the bedside tables, but some were a bit inconvenient, especially the lack of charging points. The only 2 plug points were on the side of the room farthest from the bed and I found this troublesome because my phone loses charge extremely fast and I couldn't charge it and use it at the same time if I wanted to relax in the bed after a whole day of walking about.
We paid 330 for a 2 night stay in a double room, with breakfast not included. I suppose with COVID and it being a bank holiday weekend, prices were generally high in the area, as this was one of the cheaper options available for reservation. Overall, it's a good place, staff are friendly, it's extremely clean and it's just opposite the beach. The main downside we found was the lack of modern conveniences, even the run of the mill ones we we take for granted in most hotels nowadays.

Bad service. My partner need to go away and I decide to stay 1 more night Not helpful staff and felt uncomfortable of being alone and judged. Not good for solo traveller if you are a woman. Not a happy place and it was not clean. Considering the amount of options in Eastbourne and the fact the hotel is dated, they should be a more mindful of their treatment of guests.

Booked this at last minute so we could attend the Eastbourne Tennis event. We were pleased with our choice. Room spotlessly clean with all staff adhering to covid regs. Not like some we've visited lately. Breakfast was OK but had to ask for certain items as they could not keep it on display, understandable I guess under the circumstances. We left having provisionally reserved again for next year. Good choice as just 2 minutes from the courts

Really a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Eastbourne. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast is first class! Sea views are limited so book early. My only complaint is the heat in summer means rooms can be stuffy, as no air con but fans are available upon request. Free wifi and an elevator (?one set of stairs for room 31) a bar and lounge and terrace. What's not to like?
