Stayed for a few nights end of April. Very comfortable and staff were extremely friendly! Room was cosy and had everything we could need. The breakfast, which was included in the very reasonable price, had plenty of options including fresh fruit and yoghurts to go alongside the usual bready and other continental brekky foods. Dog friendly. The location was convenient enough as we were driving and near to the things we needed, there was ample free parking nearby.
My only complaint is that whilst I'm not a light sleeper the hotel is on a reasonably heavily used road, including by trucks and buses and even though they've added extra glazing to the original art decor windows, there's still a fair bit of road noise. But honestly just bring ear plugs.

God help me but are they rude! Tried to email them they did not respond. Tried calling them and yes you guessed it. NO RESPONSE! Booked online for much higher price and when I arrived I was D I S A P O I N T E D! Rooms are not very clean, towels were smelly. Furniture dusty, bad wifi reception, bad tv reception. Staff was not THAT bad as the whole hotel.
Don't think I'll be coming back again if I need to. There's much better choice near by I don't care if pay more. I expected more really since they're in groupation of hotels. Not sure if I'm going to even stay in any of their hotels from groupation no matter where I go. AVOID!

We stayed at the Northern Hotel in Aberdeen in April 2022. We chose the hotel because it was dog friendly and wow! they really lived up to that. Our dog got a huge welcome and we were even allowed to take her down to breakfast. The staff were all incredibly friendly. The hotel is an amazing Art Deco building and worth visiting just to see the round bar! The only slight downside was not very hot showers but the rooms were lovely and warm and our stay was also good value for money.

I had a good stay. Stayed here with my husband for three nights. The room was usually kept warm and comfortable. The tv works, unlike it was in the hotel I previously stayed. The light switched was conveniently located above the bed as well as by the door. The breakfast was very enjoyable, I always ate to my fill and i looked forward to it all every morning.
The staff are friendly and helpful. It is situated in a good location too, has a bus stop right in front, it's close to university of Aberdeen, McDonald's, Dominos, Sainsbury's, not too far from city centre. I recommend and I look forward to staying again. The only issue i had was with the hot water in the bathroom, it wasn't usually very hot. I wished it was. But it was warm and wasn't bad to use.

Stayed here for two nights in January 2022. Really lovely old building, rooms are OK for the price paid. The water was just tepid for washing your hands, it did have an electric shower but the water was no very hot there either. The heating system in the rooms are very old and closed in behind radiator covers which you can't get access to turn them up or down, our room was cold but they eventually supplied us with a blow heater which heated up the room quickly.
It says it provides breakfast when booking but it's not until you finalise your booking that you find out its a continental breakfast which was quite poor as there was not much choice on offer. The staff were all really lovely, good place to stay if you have a small budget.
