Ideally situated close to the centre of Fort William in the magnificent Scottish Highlands, Nevis Bank Hotel is an attractive late 19th century building, which originally formed part of the famous Glenlochy Whisky Distillery. Located at the end of the West Highland Way and by the entrance to Glen Nevis, known to many as Braveheart Country, this privately owned family hotel offers the very best in highland hospitality. The hotel's Investors in People accredited staff are both attentive and friendly, creating a unique home from home atmosphere which captures the true spirit of Scotland.

Stayed here this week after walking Ben Nevis. Lovely clean hotel with really nice en suite facilities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and restored some faith in Scottish hospitality following a series of disappointments elewhere recently. The food in Browns restaurant was superb and generous helpings following a day on the hill and at breakfast to send you on your way. Highly recommend a stay here if you visit Fort William!

Had a fabulous dinner at Browns to celebrate completing my Munros. Three of us enjoyed a superb meal with excellent service. Each element of the three courses was in our view perfectly prepared, well presented and very tasty. Drinks and coffee were in the same vein and we had nothing that failed to meet the exemplary standard. The atmosphere was just right too. Thank you to everyone at Browns for helping us to celebrate a landmark event so enjoyably.

This is my 3rd visit to Brown's restaurant and as allways it was magnificent. I know that's a big clame but it was. Very quite but in no way takes away from the service and very welcomeing atmosphere. The staff as allways were perfect. The service was perfect. The meal was, yes your correct, perfect. I had haggis bon bons. And a stake. All realy good and cooked just as I like it.
I can't say much about the other choices on the menu as I allways have the same. If it ant broke dont fix it. Would I recommend this place. Yes every time I'm in fort William this is were I eat. And have already booked for Friday.

Very friendly welcome, efficient staff, comfy seats (matters when you're older!) and clean tables with screens to shield you from other diners. Our food was tasty - not gourmet cooking but pleasant enough. Apple crumble a bit disappointing as it was cold, but served on a warm plate. It would have been much nicer if popped in a microwave for a few seconds. This restaurant is not part of the big 'Browns' chain (we weren't sure when we booked). Parking not great - there is a car park opposite if you manage to spot it!

This was a last minute booking, our last night here before heading home, and what a treat. It was absolutely gorgeous food and great service. The staff were friendly and joined in the banter. If you're considering where to eat and want a treat, we would definitely recommend eating here at Brown's. Love to you all from the Yorkshire clan

I can't say much about the Hotel, but this included cool roadside stop. A "Shop and Dine, " Cafeteria Style, on the Banks and Bend of Loch Linnhe & Loch Eil. Our tour bus along with many others have supported the livelihood of the fine people working in the shop and kitchen. Fish 'n Chip's in the Highlands of Scotland seemed the best option for a rewarding survival of the "Shop & and Female Companions." You place your order with tray in had.
It then getting barked to the back and after a short and painless wait - botta bing the piping (no pun intended) hot food is on your tray! You progress to the sweet cashier lady and get reminded that you (me) don't have a beverage. Oops. I quickly I the chilled bottles of lagers and grab an Lemon Shandy. Seating inside and out. It was a beautiful sunning day and no debate was raised on "outside." With sun on my back, extra tarter sauce, and Shandy popped open, it was time to rate the Fish 'n Chip's may last dish on the Cape Cod to the States.
No comparison, these Chips were crunchy outside and tender inside. Same applied to the Fish. Crunchy, fresh, and tender. A heavenly treat. Of course, the Shandy, weather, location, and company added greatly to the experience.

Terrible value for money considering its 4 star status and prices to match. The rooms lack character and resemble convenience chains (Premier Inn, Ibis etc.) I had a room with a window that opens out at a wall. We chose this hotel because it was dog friendly but I've stayed at many dog friendly hotels, especially in outdoor bases like Fort William and none of them have offered rooms as filthy as this one.
The carpet was stained with a tapestry of marks and my dog was left scratching himself all night. Can't imagine why the independent owners think they can justify the prices on these rooms. We would have been better at a B&B. I've stayed at hostels all around the world that are better than this place for 1/10th of the price. Its one saving grace was the inclusive breakfast although the salmon and eggs I ordered seemed less than fresh, the rest of my party were happy with their full Scottish breakfast and the coffee was decent, served in a French press and made to order. WiFi is temperamental and does not extend into every room with good range.
