Loch Leven Hotel The area has a very rich history, much of it familiar to people the world over. We include here just a few snippets. The local museums and visitors' centres have very interesting displays and information available if you would like to know more. The historical event most closely associated with the Lochaber area has to be the second Jacobite Rising of 1745. It was at nearly Glenfinnan that Prince Charlie raised his standard to rally the Clans and set out on the romantic but ill-fated quest for the crown of his fathers.

We booked a Basic double room with breakfast, 118. We were given a room in an outbuilding which was a very poor conversion of a shed. The only window was tiny at thigh height! There was a piece of plastic covering a sky light and a large crack on the ceiling and the TV didn't work. I spoke to the lady in charge and she reluctantly moved us into the main hotel and so we had a pleasant stay. The hotel does need a lot of upgrading, unfortunately. The dinner menu was very expensive, 19 for fish and chips! But breakfast was good.

Great location, at the entrance to Loch Leven, in an older hotel but staff were excellent and so was the food at dinner and breakfast.

This hotel was so welcoming and the staff were amazing. The food was great and the breakfast was great value for money and the local distillery Devils staircase gin was delish. We booked last minute and were in an out building which would be ok if you were used to hostels. If we return it would be to the hotel rooms all in all a wee gem of a place

For food purposes - ate at the bar as we were staying near by. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Staff was very friendly and great at recommending- worth every penny! Food was huge sizes and honestly best mussels I've ever had

We recently stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time! The location of this hotel is perfect for exploring the highlands and has easy access given the loch side location for walking around the loch which in itself is a delightful walk. Our meals on both nights were without exception marvellous. All credit given to the chef and kitchen staff! Our room was clean and freshly painted with bathroom amenities perfect for either a relaxing bath or a nice warm shower but most of all the mattress, this was so comfortable we slept really well on both nights!

I would score the hotel 3 to 4 stars, more to the 4 stars due to excellent hospitality and location however the whole trip and giving thanks to the staff and staying in this warm and welcoming hotel, we enjoyed a 5 star break - A birthday celebration thoroughly enjoyed!

We stayed last night and we even got upgrade without being told that's how wonderful the hotel is. We wanted to book again in December because we had a great stay. The hotel is 3 * but we found the service 4*. animal friendly hotel also as we saw dogs. The chef well they deserve a michelin star for effort of food we had venison and chicken supreme.

The rooms was spacious warm and the views at the hotel worth paying for. The only thing we were disappointed about was the breakfast which seems a common theme in the reviews. I could buy all what I ate for fiver.no hot food apart from toast egg porridge where was the fry up we wanted to know.but other than that you wouldn't go wrong in staying here for a night it was the cheapest out of the area.

Friendly welcome, efficient service and has a great chef. Very easy to get to and a short car journey to Fort William. The room we had was small but comfortable and bathroom has a shower not a bath. Views are across Loch Leven from one side of the hotel only. Ours was not on the Loch side but with the mountain backdrop we were more than happy. We both enjoyed the dinner menu.

It remained the same over the three occasions we had to eat there but there was a different specials menu each evening. A good mix of fish and meat dishes and beautifully cooked each time. Breakfasts haven't got back to the full offering yet but the continental option offered was more than adequate. Great fun watching people try to work the little egg cookers! Would I go again? Yes, of course. Thank you one and all for making our stay very pleasant.

Spent a couple of days at this hotel. The food was exceptional and very well presented. Staff were very kind and helpful. The scenery surrounding the hotel is breathtaking. The room we were given was comfortable but a little bit on the small side. There was no hot water and the central heating radiator was not working either. We were given an oil heater to take the chill off the room but unfortunately it wasn't enough.

The shower worked perfectly. I think the floor of the shower room could do with being upgraded. I understand the covid restrictions has probably given the hotel a lot of problems but hopefully next year when they are relaxed a bit further the hotel will be back to looking it's best as I would like to stay there again for a few days.

This is a dog friendly hotel, one of the best so if furry friends aren't your cup of tea then this isn't for you. location is great, that's what really sells this unique hotel. Room very clean and comfortable. DIY repairs in evidence although they are good quality and common sense ones. Yes its tired, so are staff as they're clearly on minimal staffing levels and stretched rota.

They're still giving a great service and the dinner menu whilst limited is stylishly presented and served. Breakfast is not matching quality of dinner service, continental only and products/produce could be improved for the 9.95 price.
