Really nice genuine welcome when you arrive in this immaculate hotel. We went for Sunday lunch and the dining area is really spacious with a gret rip roaring fire burning away to get you warm. The menu choice was outsanding and we chose 3 seperate main meals. All of which were superbly presented and were outstanding value for money. The quality of everyting served is just superb.

Best of all the bill was way below what I would expect to pay for this quality and quantity of great food. You will not go wrong paying a visit here and we will be back very soon.

We went here after looking at all the good reviews and we don't mind paying a bit extra if food good. We were very disappointed as both meals were inedible the sauce was curled in the macaroni and had a vinegar taste, the mayonnaise they gave us was just cheap rubbish the fries had no taste at all and the scampi was burnt brown and hard the coleslaw was nice!

We were offered another meal but we were put off eating by this so declined the offer, they did not charge us but it has put us off from going back. The staff were friendly and the hotel is lovely was just a pity about the food on the night we went.

Stopped here for some food on the way home expecting nothing more than a run of the mill pub grub. This meal was no basic pub meal! I could not have been happier with the food. It was so tempting to not lick the plate after the gooey breaded brie and cranberry. Following that with vegetable curry was heavenly. I cannot praise this place anymore! My mam decided to try out seabass for the first time and was in awe at how delicious her meal was. Ditto with my dad and his home style lasange! The staff are delightful and friendly, the decor is so homely and by God the food! Absolute heaven. Don't even hesitate at the door you'll regret it if you do!

We stopped here on a Friday evening for a meal. They let us and our dog sit in the bar area which was a nice surprise. We had sea bass which was delicious and a lasagne which was pretty decent and definitely tasty(just needed a white sauce in my opinion). The thing that really makes this place 5 stars though was the welcome we got from both staff and fellow customers.

Such a lovely friendly place and our dog was fussed over by every passing customer (so he also gives it 5 stars!) Just a shame we weren't there for longer than one night. Thank you for such a lovely experience.

Loved it here. We were stopping in the castle more or less behind the hotel, we went looking for a coffee shop that would let us take the dogs in. Nope n the end we ended up coming here three times and even having food on our final visit. I think what sold it for us, above the dogs being allowed in, was the prices. It was by far the best value place in the area. 4 coffee and a cake for a 'tenner', can't really go wrong.

The room was excellent Very well furnished and spotlessly clean. Bed very comfortable. Good choice of cereals and fruit for breakfast. Full breakfast looked very appealing but I had scrambled egg. Would love to stay there again.
