The Langham dates back to 1913 when it was originally opened as a hotel and is formed of six houses to make the hotel as it stands today. Why not enjoy a drink in the elegant Langham's Bar or sit outside on our terrace and watch the world go by? The Bathing Machine was refurbished in 2018 and is on display outside the hotel during the summer months and is somewhat of a local landmark. The Bathing Machine is one of only two left in the UK and is a complete and original example of these once popular seaside icons.

I recently booked a surprise 60th Birthday meal for my husband, nothing was too much trouble from when we arrived to when we left. The receptionist asked the guests to gather in the cocktail bar. When we arrived we were taken through to where everyone waiting. I had asked them to make a cake too which was delicious. We were in a separate part of the main dining area which was lovely.
The staff bought a fan out for the room after requesting one as it was a very warm evening. The waiting staff were excellent. Thank you for making it a wonderful evening for us all. Karen

This hotel is wonderful. Previous reviews were really good and that's why I booked and it exceeded expectations. Booked a more expensive room for the sea view and really glad as the view is stunning from the window. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Nice touches like bathrobes, slippers and lovely shampoo etc in the bathroom. High quality.
The wallpaper also was a really nice detail. Best of all is the food in the restaurant, real fine dining. We had dinner on the first night. Table cloths, napkins and wine cooler. Would recommend the mussels starter and the melting chocolate torte for dessert, wow, that was wonderful watching the hot sauce being poured over to reveal the icecream. Cooked breakfast was also superb and cooked to perfection. Lovely service from staff, too. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, as a Vegan, I was let down. The kitchen and serving staff had no understanding of what being vegan meant. We were asked how we would like our eggs, despite previously advising 2 minutes prior that we were vegan, no animal products. We suspect we were served meat sausages today as they were different than the sausages served yesterday, highly offensive to a Vegan. A real shame as the room was fantastic and high quality but let down by the hotel not educating it's staff on vegan food.

We live in Eastbourne so we thought we'd just try their restaurant. Firstly, we were most surprised to see a hotel with such an extensive menu and including free coffees/teas and homemade chocolates. The delicious food was up to Michelin standard with such presentation and flavour. We appreciated the restaurant staff were wearing uniforms and even gloves. Tablecloths and napkins are a rarity these days.
We had the avocado crab and the creamiest ever moules. The pork and lamb were also both divine. So good, we'd order the same again! Desserts could be a little more interesting to match. i.e. Apple pie could be caramel apple pie. All this for only 30 and includes coffee/tea! Can't wait to return.

The Langham hotel is an immaculate privately owned hotel in the Seaside area of Eastbourne. When we arrived late in the evening the owner personally came out to welcome us. The room was extremely clean and very well kept and smarter than the Grand Eastbournes five star hotel which is not as nicely kept and looks tired. The staff are excellent and everyone has a smile which is nice and breakfast was hot and tasty. Unfortunatly this amazing hotel is next to the Strand hotel which appears to be not so nice and houses a large number of Afghan and foreign asylum seekers who spend the day spitting and smoking Cannabis out the front of their hotel i never saw any females or children.
They then proceed to throw their litter out onto the footway. The authorities have not taken into account peoples wonderful hotels and locations by simply dumping large groups of single men into cheap and nasty hotels. Worst thing is you dont see Sussex police anywhere and Eastbourne town center appears to be totally lawless which is a shame becsuse it really is a proper English seaside town.
The Langham is a great location and a beautiful hotel.but the authorities are damaging the town by placing such large groups of lone men in struggling hotels just to house them that is simply not the answer.

Stayed for 1 night in December 2021 I have stayed in many hotels over the years and this really is very nice. The parking is easy, the staff are very friendly and the rooms are nice (some squeaky floorboards, but it is an old building). BUT THE BREAKFAST - 1 small sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 2 tablespoons on scrambled egg, 2 tablespoons of baked beans, a few mushrooms and a slice of fried bread the size of a playing card. Just not enough after a night out.

Lovely place to visit for afternoon tea. Visited today as a group of 4 and were immediately made to feel welcome. We had an allergy in our party that was catered for brilliantly which showed good attention to detail on their part and they still provided a delicious selection of food. We were also celebrating a birthday, and once we finished lunch the waiter surprised us by bringing out a beautifully iced sponge cake which said happy birthday on top.
A very thoughtful touch which we certainly did not expect! All in all a fantastic place to visit for afternoon tea, and the rest of the hotel looked very ornate too (in a characterful way) if that's also what you're considering.

Just had three days at the Langham. Accommodation fantastic, our room was squeaky clean. Bed was very comfortable. The food was excellent with a great choice. The staff were polite and extremely professional, nothing was too much trouble. Comfortable lounge and bar area. A very well run Hotel and a notch or two up from most, can't wait to return, thankyou.

I had a lovely stay at the Langham. I had a double room with a sea view and was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a room with a large bay window. The room was bright and clean and had a somewhat newly refurbished bathroom. Tea facilities were what I would expect, there was a hairdryer at the vanity table, and a couple of chairs with a table to look out over the ocean.
The bed was comfortable and the towels in the bathroom were also nice. My only 'complaints' would be that a lot of light came in in the morning, so I was woken up a few times by that, and the shower struggled to get warm. Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable, and check out was simple, with reception staff also being helpful despite the busy time I checked out at. I would like to stay again as it's a great location, not too expensive, and the rooms are clean and quiet.

We stayed at this hotel in August 2009 whilst visiting Eastbourne on a coach holiday 90% of the guests were on coach holidays which seems to be the main part of the hotels customer base. WE found our room to be excellent recently renovated with excellent decor and fittings a nice clean on suite well stocked welcome tray and a wonderful sea view from the window.
Our friends however had a dingy poorly decorated room with views of drain pipes at the rear of the hotel and gaffer tape across broken floor coverings in the bathroom. To make things worse for them they overheard the manager describing their room as the worst in the hotel. The breakfast was all right but the evening dinner was served plated (unusual in a 3 star hotel) and was of minuscule portions with a poor selection of vegetables these small portions were made worse by being served on enormous plates.
Nice polite staff and wonderful to sit on the terrace looking out to sea. Located at the east end of the promenade a nice stroll from the pier good job there was a bus stop outside the hotel as it was quite a walk to the shops, the buses went to Hastings and Brighton handy for over 60's who can use bus passes but service stops at 7 pm.

We stayed here for 1 night in August. The first impressions of the hotel are very nice, but once you get past reception it starts to look a bit tired. Our double room was probably the smallest I have ever stayed in and the decor was dated with wallpaper hanging off and filler on walls. The shower was minute in that you couldnt help soaking the bathroom floor when you had one and the seleant was peeling off and mouldy. However the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was nice.
