A 21st Century haven of comfort and friendly professionalism within a Grade 1 Listed Elizabethan Manor House, Hintlesham Hall is to be found nestling in 175 acres of rolling Suffolk countryside. The 16th Century building is distinguished by its Georgian additions, most notably the famous fa'ade, and by earlier Stuart interior embellishments.

We went to a wedding as guests. The location, the grounds and the hall itself were fabulous. The staff, in particular, made the evening easy and joyful. The whole thing is being let down by the rooms. The size is fine. The contents are fine. The decor has Seen a few winters. But most importantly, sound insulation is woeful. You can almost hear someone breathing in the room next door. I would recommend it as a venue but not as a place to stay. Mind you, if you are loaded up after a party - sound probably won't bother you that much.

We stayed here for a few nights a couple of days ago. Our dogs were very welcome, & we had a large dog friendly room with direct access to a patio area, which was handy getting the dogs out in the morning. The food in the dining room was to an excellent standard, although no side dishes to accompany them, so maybe something that can be looked at. We ate in the lounge area as we had the dogs with us, they also did a separate lounge menu which was very nice too. We used the hotel as a base, plenty to see & do in the surrounding area. Would definitely go back.the room we had was 'Josephine' would definitely recommend

Our room was extremely comfortable, probably one of the best. Bed and bed linen spot on, and exemplary bathroom. Our three course dinner was well cooked and beautifully presented, however although I think we both have average appetites, the portions were very small and left us wishing we had been offered more. My husbands favourite dessert is cheesecake and in all honesty he could have eaten it with one spoonful, it was minuscule, the same as the one I had chosen.

We chose Hintlesham Hall as a centre to celebrate our Platinum Wedding Anniversary. Should you wonder how many years that is? Its 70. We enjoyed our stay and the calm elegant facilities that Hintlesham offers. The service and reception team were notable and made our stay pleasurable. We visited a number of attractions all within easy reach and the restaurant, as one would expect, produced high quality dishes although we were surprised with the seasonal approach to the menu, as seems to be the case with a number of hotels these days, which means that choice is somewhat restricted for a longer stay.

I only ate here! The food was lovely but the portions were on the mean side. The food is costly and I think there should be a little more on the plate for the prices being charged. Had a lovely amuse bouche and truffles, but maybe they should not give those out in favour of a more generous portion? Decor is very lord of the Manor! With old paintings and dark stairways!
But the dining room was bright and very grand! We sat in a very comfy sofa in the library after our meal and had an excellent coffee by the side of a huge fireplace which, I think, would be very nice in the winter!

The good part was the room - we had a beautiful quiet room with a huge bed, gorgeous beams and an excellent selection of teas and biscuits. The disappointing part was that there was a wing directly opposite, so no view, plus the guests in that room could see us, and so could we see them. A bit odd in this day and age, with so many issues about privacy.
We had some disappointing experiences at breakfast - overcooked poached eggs, cold scrambled eggs, and little choice in the buffet for a hotel of this kind. Tea was very good in the lounge, and the grounds were well looked after and nice to wander in. Although there was supposed to be a spa in the premises, there was no information about it in the room. Service was good overall, and we enjoyed ordering a couple of half bottles of wine, reasonably priced. Not something one comes across that often these days.

Lovely place to stay, some minor building maintenance going on other than that a very quiet location. The staff are 1st rate, attentive and polite, unlike some other hotels I've stayed at. We had the inclusive meal package and the food was always excellent, at last a chef who knows how to cook a steak well done chefs I would certainly return.

Immaculately presented individual rooms, tastefully furnished and with high quality linen and towels. The staff in all areas were professional, knowledgeable and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The dining experience at breakfast, lunch and dinner was to a very high standard, and I would highly recommend the restaurant as a resident or non resident. Beautiful grounds to walk and sit in made this a relaxing, very enjoyable weekend.

We had bed and breakfast- staying in the 'Rosette' room for one night. We also had afternoon tea and everything was just perfect. The room was huge, the bed was so big you could get lost in it! The staff were also very friendly and attentive and we were made to feel like royalty! The room was spotless, and the free-standing bath was amazing! We will definitely be returning, and the eggs benedict was also delicious!

The stay was amazing, beautiful hotel, beautiful grounds. Staff were friendly and willing to help with everything. Only fault I found was at breakfast no one was around to offer a cup of tea or toast but as soon as I found someone nothing was too much to ask for. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

My Husband and I booked for 3 nights and at the time of booking I did ask for a ground floor room (as they didn't have lifts) with a walk-in shower. This was accommodated for us, and I do have to say the room was delightful. On our arrival we were extremely disappointed in the lack of facilities for disabled people. Firstly, we were unable to find the reception, which we did find eventually but it had about 6 steps up to it.
As I am a wheelchair user and unable to walk very well it was impossible for me to use the reception entrance. Also, another door that we found outside was a 15-minute walk from our room and on gravel (2 mins for anyone else) as my wheelchair could not cope with the gravel or indeed my husband trying to push me on it. Our room was close to the reception but as stated I couldn't use it.
We asked for another inside, which they gave to us. Nice room but had 4 steps to get into the bathroom which did not have any handrails etc. impossible for me. From this room to either the reception/bar/restaurant/ or other facilities we encountered yet more steps. There were broken tiles on the floor (very dangerous) and bars between doors which were raised.
All in all, it was very upsetting, and we decided not to stay for the other 2 nights, the very curt receptionist said we would have to pay for 2 nights, but then decided not to charge us for the 2 nights not used. Could be a very nice hotel when upgraded and re-decorated. I must add that although short on staff they were excellent (bar one) and obviously doing more than they are employed to do. They need to think about people with disabilities more.

I visited Hintlesham Hall Spa and had afternoon tea in the hotel. The afternoon tea was delicious. The area I had afternoon tea in was beautifully decorated and I would definitely visit again. The spa treatment was fantastic, the therapist was lovely. However the spa itself is in need of a refurb, it is tired and not decorated to the same standard as the hotel.

We stayed four nights at Hintlesham Hall, and I must say that it exceeded expectations. Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable and the bathroom clean and well-equipped. We ate in the hotel each evening, three times in the restaurant and once in the lounge. The food was excellent, and the service was exceptional. In fact, the hotel's strongest feature is its staff, who were all friendly, helpful and cheerful. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to friends, and look forward to our next stay,

We got married at Hintlesham Hall on 29th July 2021 and had an amazing day. From the moment we met the wonderful Tracy at the hall when enquiring right up until the morning after the wedding they were. fantastic. Tracy really takes the time to get to know her couples and she was always ready to answer any questions we had and kept in touch. She was like a friend as well as a coordinator. Preparations ran without a hitch and the actual day was perfect.
We stayed the night before and in the bridal suite in the night of the wedding and the rooms were wonderful and the food was great. We got the mid week wedding package and we were so happy with all the suppliers we had at such an amazing cost. Thank you so much for a lovely day and a wonderful experience- we are looking forward to coming back for our anniversary dinner!
