Pre booked over the phone for last minute overnight stay. Owner seemed unpleasant. When we arrived and noticed cleanliness of reception I asked to see the room before handing over cash. Owner disappeared with a bottle of air freshener for 15 mins, I could see why. Room was filthy and carpet had not seen a Hoover in a good while! I appreciate the cheap price of this accommodation and yes location is good but cleanliness costs nothing! Goes without saying we swiftly left and managed to find alternative digs just up the road! Same priced room, spotlessly clean and v.friendly owners. Thank you to 'The Wilford' for facilitating us!

Booked this hotel on the 17 March 2022 to stay on Saturday 19 March 2022. I drove 68 miles and when I rang to check on arrival time, the owner said he would ring me back in 2 minutes. After 10 I just drove round, I was then told they had no room as they had overbooked, no other explanation was given. I asked why they had not phoned and again I was given no reason.

I then had to spend 3 hours trying to find a hotel that had space and would take my assistance black labrador. The attitude was totally unacceptable, it's not as if I drove 5 or 10 miles. Don't bother with this hotel as they clearly have a total lack of professionalism in there conduct.

Hotel staff really great, we choose this as it is a dog friendly hotel. The hotel is opposite the South Pier, and near to the pleasure Beach, so really good for getting the dog on the beach for her morning run around. The hotel is literally walking distance from the golden mile. Breakfast was great.

I wouldn't even rate it a 1star! The roof was leaking all over, hallways leaking, smelt of dog, heating didn't work so the room were absolutely freezing! Shower water wouldn't get warm! Breakfast was not worth the money neither was the money paid for hotel. Definitely will never be going here again!

We booked two rooms. We turned up to find they had double booked and could not have the rooms we had paid for. We requested refund and still not received this. Disgraceful! Hilton Blackpool gave us free breakfast with our rooms after hearing what this hotel did. Highly recommended the Hilton as a better choice than the Hawkes. We would be grateful to receive out 200 pounds please Hawkes Hotel. Mrs Cooke.

Sorry for writing this but it's what we experienced. The rugs in the lounge were filthy. There was a juke box that is so dusty you will notice the area hasnt been cleaned for a while then we waited 20 minutes before we were given our rooms. No fire escape/exit. The towels had skid marks and you wouldnt want to use them.and the worst part is there was no water in the shower.

There was a family with a little girl who told us that they were shifted rooms as somebody has checked in. This hotel should be inspected for the clients safety. THERE ARE PLENTY OF HOTELS IN BLACKPOOL. CHOOSE THOSE WITH VERY GOOD REVIEWS. BUT NOT THIS ONE.

At first sight the outside looks very sad compared to the neighbouring hotels, we were quite embarrassed walking into the hotel. When you walk in the first thing you notice is the smell and the dirty carpets that run all through the building. Once in our family room. all the wallpaper was hanging off, a sheet was hanging in the window that didn't even fit it, the carpets again were dirty and thread bear, the mattresses on the bed were very springy, one bed had even collapsed at one side, duvets were very very thin, cups and kettle were dirty, bathroom was very small, you had to sit sideways on the toilet, shower was mouldy and the shower itself had no pressure and just dribbled, the radiators didn't work we ended up with a electric heater but didn't make much difference it was still freezing, there were broken glass photos on the wall and there was no fire alarm in the room.

The building is in absolutely desperate need of some attention, unfortunately I couldn't give any positive points other than the staff were very friendly it's just a shame the building let's them down. The hotel is in a great location with a carpark just down the road.

I was so looking forward to my stay cation with my wife and granddaughter but! 1st we were given a room with no running water if you needed the toilet you had to move the bed my granddaughter had a camp bed she is 11 we complained and was given another room for me to sleep in and a shower that barely worked they wanted us to sleep separately then the next day they gave us another room to stay in It was a little better they have a dog that was running wild all the time so if you wanted to sit in the lounge you couldn't the place is very dirty the breakfast cooked by luke and Abbey was great 2 very hard working under paid young people that's when they did get paid I read reviews about this hotel and thought it would be amazing how wrong I was the reviews must be made up that's enough I don't want to wast anymore time on them this review has taken 5 mins of my life I can never get back but if it stops someone making the same mistake then it is actually worth it. Stay well clear.
