Avoid. Rude staff and small pool often closes. Very disappointed with goldenstones today. Day in easter holidays. This was the third time in a row that during our visit we had to get out the little pool for it to close. Told this time it was due to staff absence. This is difficult for three young children to understand who cannot yet swim, the youngest has learning disabilities and having to only be in the big pool caused him a great deal of upset, so we shortly had to leave.
As we left we spoke to the receptionist who showed no compassion and was actually quite rude. When we walked out we then heard laughing, very unprofessional. We will not be returning again.

This was my first visit here, I came to start swimming lessons for my daughter and myself. I was attended by Megan (I think that was her name) who was wonderful, she explained every small bits about the membership and fees. She answered all my questions with patience and I was quite satisfied with the treatment I received here. Definitely worth a 5 star first time experience, am hoping the swimming sessions would also be great.

This is probably the worst pool I have ever been to. It never looks clean, particularly the showers. Various things break down which means the pool is often closed and you've had a wasted journey. I try to swim a couple of mornings a week before going to work, the pool is now used on Wednesday mornings by a swim school and so I can't use it. This is despite there only being a handful of people from the swim school in the pool at this time - they could easily use one or two lanes, leaving the rest of the pool free for others.
The week before last the pool was closed yet again, this time due to issues with chlorine. I'm beginning to wonder why I pay for membership. The lifeguards do not seem to take any control of swimmers - whilst the Casual Swim lane is less structured than the lane swimming I do expect people to actually SWIM, not stand around in groups in the middle of the pool chatting.
You get the same 'regulars' doing this time and time again which is thoughtless and selfish. Also, it seems swimmers are free to use face masks, snorkels and flippers in the pool, which are not allowed in the Wincanton pool (also LED Leisure) - why is there one rule for one and not the other? For the disabled lady who left a comment earlier - Wincanton pool is lovely, they have dedicated timeslots for people with disabilities, the staff are friendly and helpful.
Parking is free, whereas you have to pay to park at Goldenstones after 8.00 am. The staff at Goldenstones look miserable and bored to tears most of the time. However, working in such a dump I really can't blame them.
