I went there for a wedding, which the hotel managed amazingly well, expertly catering for about 65 people for 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. The food is excellent and our room (one of the "cottages") was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is in an excellent location and I found a lovely 10 km circular walk along the River Usk and the canal.

We had afternoon tea today. Absolutely lovely, delicious and supreme standards, as ever. We have been taking afternoon tea at Gliffaes for 27 years, fantastic! Wonderful surroundings, thank you.

Only went for afternoon tea to meet friends en route from Bristol to Aberaeron. Younger staff were delightful, one more mature individual less so. Lovely sense of country home from home, clearly many repeat guests walking or fishing.

Stayed with a group of fellow porsche owners. We were made to feel really welcome. The rooms were clean, with everything needed provided. Food was wonderful And the staff were all so attentive. Would love to have stayed longer. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the grounds admiring the trees and flowers

Stopped here for a lunch and considering the prices i was most disappointed. Not really impressed with the whole place, it was cold and uninviting. We ordered a small lunch which amounted to a ham sandwich and two steak sandwiches with two lots of chips at the cost of 40. The chips did not turn up we told the waitress and she said she would get them, they came after we had finished the sandwiches not very good service at this price.

We were offered coffee as compensation. The waitress was very nice but the barman who took the order seemed more interested in the young girl he was training. If it had been busy i could understand but there was only another couple in there. Very disappointed. We have now had a very nice offer thank you. UPDATE we had a lovely offer of a Sunday lunch after our review and I must say what a difference.

The meal was really lovely and the dining room was really very pleasant 100% improvement on our last visit. I would recommend and will certainly be going back. Thank you so much

I loved this hotel the building will be amazing when scaffolding is down. Afternoon tea was a bit disappointing while the pot of tea was delicious and some of the cakes were divine the sandwiches lacked something and some of them were rather stale on the edges. I would still recommend a visit for coffee or light lunch for first visit. The staff are absolutely delightful x x

Myself and my partner stayed here for 1 night and had the dinner and breakfast package. The hotel is beautiful, our room was very cozy and the bed was so comfortable that we both had a wonderful night sleep. The food tasted amazing and was high standard. Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't walk the beautiful surroundings but we will be back in the summer. Would highly recommend.

Visited Gliffaes for a light lunch on a weekday and was thoroughly impressed. From the location and the setting to the food itself as well as the staff. Such a tranquil location that we would highly recommend. The hotel itself has an air of the Overlook hotel in terms of the location and setting and gladly that's where the similarities end!

Had a 1 night stay with an evening meal and Breakfast, for a respite from the frenzy of Christmas. Beautiful hotel, with a great team of workers. Just what my wife and I needed. Our 1st floor room was looking out over the river, which you couldn't hear. Large comfortable king bed looking out through the window, in a nice warm room with a spacious and clean ensuite.

Well presented rooms to read, relax and have a drink in, be that tea & coffee or an alcoholic option. Beautifully prepared choices of 3 course evening meals all part of the package and a very good breakfast selection from cereals to a full Welsh breakfast. Great location to explore the Brecon Beacons
