Manja and Duncan don't expect guests to require a key: the atmosphere is akin to staying in a friend's Highland home. The charming bedrooms, many with a stunning loch view, some with a garden view, are furnished with solid, mahogany and oak furniture. We have installed spa baths in the garden view rooms so that those without a loch view have an extra special treat.
Our a la carte menu offers a wide choice, perhaps start with a sharing a platter of our home smoked Salmon, smoked Duck and smoked cheddar cheese. Duncan takes great pride in smoking the fish, meat and cheese and the light smokiness and delicate flavours are next to none. Alternatively you can try our homemade venison liver pate with redcurrant compote, crisp Parma ham & Melba toast.
By car from Glasgow, we are reached after a beautiful scenic drive along Loch Lomond and through Glencoe approx. 2.5 hours. Pass through Fort William and turn off the A82 to follow the A830 'Road to the Isles', west for 15 miles to Glenfinnan. Turn left just after the Glenfinnan Monument Visitor Centre.
It is impossible to be short of walks and activities in Glenfinnan and the surrounding area. There are also three golf courses nearby in Traigh, Fort William & Ballachulish. Loch Shiel Cruises are just on our doorstep and you can enjoy the eagle-watch from 1 hour up to an all-day cruise. There are regular sightings of golden eagles, black throated divers and red deer.

We only stayed here for one night while passing through, but the staff was unusually kind. They were accommodating of our late check in and made sure to save some dinner for us after we called and realized we'd miss it, and they wrote a handwritten note (with chocolates!) for me when my husband told them it was my birthday trip. The room itself was simple and comfortable and the location and views over the loch are just superb!

We were walking by with our dogs and thought we'd see if they allowed dogs in the bar area. We rang the door bell (I guess people can't be trusted to enter the building on their own) and asked the member of staff who answered if they allowed dogs in the bar area. 'We are fully booked' was the only response we were afforded before the door was closed on us. So I still don't know if they allow dogs in the bar area and will probably never find out as I won't be going back.

It was our trip to Scotland and we picked this lovely hotel to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We would like to thank to all the hotel team, they just went far beyond and over with everything. Staff is just amazing. We had room with outstanding view and all amenities are high quality. Dinner. oh, never had such a lovely steak before, exactly as I like.
Fish also very tasty. All food, drinks and service are at the highest standards. Dog friendly hotel with lot of walking paths. Parking free of charge. Breakfast included. Hotel is located close to lake cruises pier and also to the famous viaduct. We will definitely be back!
