Now this isn't your average vanilla hotel.and the decor may not be for everyone and to be honest it is perfect British opulence for the London tourist. Everything is maintained well and clean. The bathroom was well fitted out and shower was spacious and had plenty of pressure. I slept great and couldn't believe how quiet it was considering the location.

Probably something to do with the immensely thick heavy curtains. Talking of location, it's literally by Buckingham Palace. Great for Victoria and the rest of the West End. Service was professional, helpful and polite.,.you can't ask more than that. I will be returning for sure.

All the staff are friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The bars are relaxed and the Curry House served up the best curry I have tasted. The rooms were clean and extremely well appointed. This hotel and it's staff are more than deserving of 5 stars.

We stayed several days while on a WWII tour with the National WWII museum. Quality service, nice room, not large but we didn't spend much time in the room anyway and good restaurants. Very accommodating for our tour group and to us personally when we extended our stay.

Fantastic hotel, this was our second stay. We were greeted on arrival by name, they even asked about our children. They must have made notes from our first stay. A nice touch. We live just outside London and came across this hotel by chance, but we will be staying every time we come into to town now. The staff are very friendly, they made us feel like the most important people staying there.

The hotel is full of character and history. The food is fantastic! We had afternoon tea this time. We had loads left and they boxed it up for us and had it delivered to the room for later. If you are looking for the proper London experience in a five star hotel then you will not be disappointed. Ps, not bumped into the Queen yet, she has been out of town both times we stayed.

I arrived with high expectations of The Rubens and I'm not sure that they were met. The reception and door staff were excellent and check in was straight forward. My first impression of the room was not good. It was very small. I had an appointment so dropped my bags and left. When I returned I had a look around the room and noticed that it was rather shabby.

A broken toilet roll holder, chipped paintwork and the dead bolt did not work. It gives the impression of not being totally clean. There are hot drink facilities but the coffee was awful and there's no fridge. They don't have a gym/fitness centre but you can use some nearby facilities for 25 per session which is ridiculously expensive. My breakfast was first class.

Excellent quality produce and nothing was too much trouble. The continental choice is just as good as the cooked offerings and you can't fault the staff. The communal areas give the feeling of opulence and are a pleasure to be in. I'm just not sure it's a 5 star hotel.

Beautiful hotel in all aspects. Love all the doormen who were so engaging and helpful. Where do they learn to whistle for those taxis?! Continental breakfast was filling, with attentive service in a lovely setting. Phenomenal dinner at the Indian restaurant. How I wish I had more room for that butter chicken! --Or could have had the huge amt. of leftovers for the next day.

The rooms were always clean, very neat, sweet notes left in support of what we had going on. I wouldnt hesitate to ever stay there. Great, central location across the street from the royal news and minutes from Buckingham palace.

Great hotel. Staff are brilliant. Location is very central in Victoria. Is a pricey hotel but as a special occasion it is very worth it. Only critic was tea and coffee in room was poor for a hotel of this standard. No complementary biscuits provided either which is a surprise.

My mother and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was lovely! We got this place from our Costco travel package so didn't exactly know what to expect. When we got here from the airport there was a doorman there to greet us and staff to take our luggage. In fact, all of the staff here is AMAZING! So kind and friendly! We went to check-in and the process was very quick and painless.

The room was (along with the rest of the hotel) was gorgeous. Very spacious and had a great layout. Although as someone coming from the states, if it is your first time in the UK (as it was mine) make sure to flip on the power after you plug something into the outlets. Nothing worse than thinking your phone has been charging for an hour only to see the battery go down.

Other than that the room was great. We got there around 11:30, so after getting settled we walked around London. This hotel's location is AMAZING! There is a great pub/restaurant right across from the hotel and so many other shops and cafes to explore. It was also a very quick walk to Victoria station which was really nice to get around to the places we needed to get to in London.

On our last day there we had their breakfast which was incredible! I had their Vegetarian full English (photo attached) and my mother had the regular full English both were delicious! My mom even tried the black pudding and said it was "not terribly offensive". And I had some veggie bacon that was the best ever, nothing like what you can get in the states! Service-wise they are amazing too!

We had room service after a very late night that was served quickly and devoured quickly as well because of how tasty it was. We also had to end up using their laundry service as I had gotten quite car-sick on the way to the hotel from the airport. They were very understanding about it and got our laundry back to us faster than if we had washed it ourselves! Overall this is a great hotel and we'll definitely be looking into booking again for our next trip!

I am just home from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Nothing was too much for the staff - asking for assistance with my double pram, luggage, room service - everything was FAULTLESS! I travelled with 3 children aged 10, 3 and 18 months. We tried the pastry experience, which was just wonderful for all ages - especially as they were all able to meet the pastry chef herself!

The Prince and Princess Afternoon Tea for the children was beautiful and, again, a fabulous experience - they really did feel like royalty (as did I!). The suites we stayed in were kept exceptionally clean and the beds were so comfortable! A special THANK YOU to Maisie, Tony, Aaron, George, Junior and Sarah (Pastry Chef). It truly was a magical stay. I will certainly be back (this is the only place I will now stay in London!)

From start to end, our stay over Christmas 2021 was a delight! The entire team was incredibly helpful and welcoming and the doormen were fabulous with lots of helpful suggestions and always able to get us a quick taxi! The rooms were lovely and super clean! All the restaurants were excellent, but Afternoon Tea was beyond compare! We highly recommend The Ruben's for your future stay!
