Go rock-pooling, watch fishing boats go by, browse gift boutiques, galleries and artisan shops, and stop at cafes serving Cornish cream teas. If you fancy messing about on the river, there are plenty of family-friendly activities from kayaking and canoeing to sailing and swimming. Keep your feet on dry land with a stroll along the Esplanade, stop for a pint of local ale in a traditional riverside pub, or wander down to Readymoney Cove where you'll find St Catherine's Castle, built in 1536 by Henry VIII.
Stay a little longer in the beautiful port-town of Fowey and enjoy a three-night bed & breakfast break for the price of two at Fowey Hall Hotel. We know it can be hard to leave beloved pets at home, so why not bring them along to enjoy a break at Fowey Hall. We include a Pippa & Co dog bed, doggy blankets, feeding bowls, tennis ball and doggy biscuit treats.
Fowey Hall, now an impressive luxury family hotel, was originally built as a beautiful Victorian mansion by local resident Charles Hanson. Today, the building retains the unique character of a coastal manor with the relaxed atmosphere of a country house. In typical country house style, the hall has strong links to the local area.

Lovely hotel in a great location. It has recently been redecorated and the interior has an upscale feel while still being cozy and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and beautifully finished (especially the suites). Rooms at the front of the hotel have views over Fowey town. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful and get 6 out of 5 stars from me.

Didn't stay but visited for a wedding. Food was good. Staff were OK, but could do with smiling! Only a few seemed to be enjoying their job Location in Fowey is beautiful but unfortunately they have building works going on, so grounds and buildings are a complete mess. Bride was sold a dream wedding; the guests made it for her, but the greed of the owners shone through in promising but not giving it.

Stayed for one night whilst travelling through and I simply couldn't fault a thing. There are building works outside which I was made aware of. That didn't matter to us. The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly, helpful and genuine. When the outside works are finished this place will be magnificent. Stunning views compensate for the walk down the hill to town.

We stayed for a short mid week break. We were informed in advance of the extensive building works and for us, it didn't detract from an overall great experience. We had a lovely sea view room which was very well equipped, beautifully decorated, large and very comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was lovely, although, as others have said, drinks were on the expensive side. Overall we had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning when the renovations are complete.

Very very disappointed! Firstly, they messed up my reservation! If I had not checked the day before we would aube arrived believing we had a reservation. Lucky your staff were helpful. Then there was confusion with staff regarding the gift voucher then another issue with the voucher they couldn't find it using the code! Told to arrive with a print out just incase there was still an issue with it.
Now we get to finally arriving to a building site! Horrible views of diggers a mess. Was not informed of the building work at any time or on any of the calls even though it was said that it was for my childs birthday. So the entrance and view was terrible all the way around. Considering we were outside in an igloo the view was important. The food was bland and scones were over baked to the point it crumbled in my fingers when attempting to pick it up.
The bread was stale, no garlic in the mushroom and black garlic tarte, tea was full off tea leaf in my cup so bad I had to spit it out. Not very good at all. We had to go look for someone to get us another drink as no one bothered to come and check on us or the drinks. When mentioning to staff about the scone falling to pieces no offer to replace it.
They were so over baked and dry and crumbled. Yuk. Barely any savory mainly sickly sweetncakes. Then your hit with 12.5% service charge for a load of rubbish. Very unhappy about it, wont be returning and we are locals 5mins away!

We just had 2-nights away with our 1-year old and had the best time. Such great staff that couldn't do enough to help us, incredible views, food, wine, and location. We loved the cosy bubble pods outside for a romantic dinner while we watched our baby through the monitor too. A great place to bring our child, we felt like we had break too. Will definitely be planning to come back.

Stayed in this hotel a few years ago. It's great for families and you can take your dog. It has a room with games in for children. We were staying in a cottage in Fowey town this year for the Christmas Market and saw the hotel had illuminated pods you could have an evening meal in so we booked. Pod was a bit chilly evern with a heater and dark as lighting was on floor.
To be honest i found it expensive. 240 for 2 courses, main and desert, plus 6 raspberry & Rhubarb Gins. We were told by our taxi driver that they are having a new Spar being built in the grounds. Will be back when completed.

This place is magical The views are spectacular and it's been refurbished to a 5* standard. The decor has been done sympathetically to maintain the fabulous original wooden panelling throughout the interior and the baroque plasterwork around the doors and ceilings are spectacular. The fireplaces are beautiful and we spotted what we believe was serpentine stone in the main dining room.
This place is Well worth a visit if only to admire this outstanding piece of history. We also found it to be a 1st class choice to celebrate our 35th anniversary but would definitely go again even if only for a coffee and pastries. we Would highly recommend the rooms if you are looking for somewhere special to stay, they are both modern yet charming and comfortable with everything you need right there for your convenience. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommend as an outstanding destination to stay or visit. 5*****

Came here for a spa, massage and cream tea. Spa wasn't up to much (tiny outside jacuzzi that was too hot to sit in) but cream tea and especially back massage were outstanding. Although we weren't staying here the hotel looked pretty cool, with great facilities for young families, including a mini cinema and retro arcade games, perfect for the geeky 8-bit dads, like me.

Very nice hotel with great views over the sea. The hill to and from the town centre is very steep and could be a struggle for less mobile guests. Sometimes the service could be a bit slow and one evening we had to cancel our sons dessert as it was taking too long. We believe this was just a matter of staff numbers and not the quality - the team members were very good and looked after us very well.
The food was very nice and well worth the wait. The lack of air-conditioning in the hotel can make the warmer evenings quite uncomfortable - if you suffer from the heat I would recommend taking a fan. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend a visit.
