I spent a good and restful night here on my hike of the Hebridean Way. Both room and service were good, with a special thanks for the lunch pack. The scallops at dinner were delicious, only the bteaded scampi dropped off a bit, since many off then had basically been disintegrated in their bread shell.

Positives - we were allowed into one of our rooms early which was great. The food was surprisingly good, if pricey. Negatives - rooms are old fashioned (80's?) but biggest issue was poor food service by some waitresses. Unfriendly, 'can't be bothered' attitude. Felt like end of the season, not July. Disappointing!

Just had my second evening meal in a week at the Borrodale Hotel. What a revelation. On both evenings the food was excellent and the staff great. The standard of food has improved tremendously in the last few years, compliments to the chef. The dining room is well layed out with plenty of space to comply with current Covid regulations and is a lovely setting to have your meal.
I will be back on our next visit Uist for certain. People still try to tell you that it is hard to get good places to eat out on the islands. Borrodale is one of a number of great places I have eaten out during this trip. Keep up the good work.
