A great place to stay while in Southport handy for everything not to far to walk. The hotel is well looked after it is very neat and tidy, the breakfasts are to die for and Aynsley who does the cooking is a great cook and nothing is to much trouble for her if you want anything just ask. I am here for 4 days and I am halfway through and it is great.
I certainly recommend staying here if you can get booked as it is very popular no wonder! Now with heavy heart I have to leave the Clifton Villa hotel and the place of my birth Southport but will return again later in the year. All is good with the Clifton aynsley looked after all the guests well and very helpful with local knowledge. As far as I am concerned 5 stars would suffice.

We spent our 63 yrs Anniversary there. Was really pleased with everything except the stairs ( our fault ) the ground floor was booked up. Pleased we went though, the landlady couldn't do enough for us. Free car parking, we didn't move the car for the 5days. Very central, around the corner from the Pier. Would certainly stay there again when we visit Southport.

We arrived on Friday 9th July for a week's stay at the Clifton. On arrival Jim showed us to our room, no 3, which was a lovely room with a fabulous bay window and en suite bathroom. Next morning as we were getting ready for breakfast the smell of bacon cooking was wafting up, lovely smell, and once down in dining room we were not disappointed, there was cereal, fruit and yoghurt followed by a sumptuous cooked breakfast of which you could have full English or just some of it, all cooked to perfection by Colette.
We would also like to thank Jim for his advice on places to eat out, he was such a friendly host and at the end of our stay, we were a bit sorry to be coming "up the road", anyway if we were going back to Southport we wouldn't hesitate to return to Clifton Villa Thanks again Jim. Mamie & Alex

Nice little guest house. Staff really welcoming. Room 1 at back was suitable for disabled. Very quiet room not many in so it might be noiser in high season. Everything you need in room. Plenty of tea and coffee. Lots of towels and toiletries. The only thing was the water pressure in shower it was very slow but we were not bothered. Lovely breakfast in morning enough to put you on. Would stay here again and recommend to our friends
