One the worst hotels I've ever been too. Damp, freezing, windows boarded up and desolate. It should not be open to the public. I was given a room with boarded up windows, with no heating, a plug that didn't fit the bath, a leaking towel rail. The list goes on and on. I would avoid this hotel at all costs, it's not worth even the cheap nightly rate. It needs sorting out immediately.

I'm in utter shock that the owner has a clear conscience, advertising these photos. I arrived at the hotel with a "get what you pay for" attitude, but upon entering I was completely disgusted. There is not one ounce of exaggeration when I say this man is practically renting rooms in a squat. Damp, no main lights, boarded up windows, vile.

Charmwood hotel Cherry Park Hall. Is the worst hotel I've ever stepped my foot into. I arrived at this hotel 7:30 p.m. just to arrive to a locked door. After calling a number on the front door or a man came to open the door. After telling him that I've got a room booked I stepped into the hotel with him. The first thing I noticed was how cold it was.

As I mentioned this to him his response was. There is another hotel down the road and the charge a lot more money than he does. To my surprise I was shocked with his response but still proceeded to check in. Standing up in a very cold reception area. This checking in was taking more time than normal. Every time I asked him a question he would just simply stop what he's doing I'm talking about something else.

This is beginning to be like a carry on movie without Sid James. The man at the hotel remind me of the character on carry On Camping the one with the hat and does everything himself. Even when I asked them about breakfast. I was told by him no chance of that if you want breakfast you got to get it at the hotel down the road. As I said before this carried on for some time and all I wanted to do was relax in the room after a long drive.

Eventually he showed me to the room. We walked along corridors twisting corners you couldn't help but notice the wallpaper raising off the wall because of the damp and a moldy smell. We finally got to the room just for him to show me around the room and telling me there's no remote control for the television. In my response I asked him why not. He said if you do not want the television in the room he could take it out because guests always steals the remote control.

At this time I've had enough and decided to walk back out to the reception area to leave this hotel. Just to hear him say I am complaining all the time. At this time I just had enough and went straight back to my car to cancel my booking at this hotel. Just to hear that the same man is not giving me back a refund. Have they literally told me to go to another hotel.

This hotel needs to come off hotel websites because this is not a free star hotel more like a dive. And I hope that everybody is goes to check into this hotel read this review before they do so it could save them money and a lot of heartache.

We had a very pleasant stay at Charmwood Hotel. The owner is charming, honest and rather unique. The premises are under used he explained management restructuring and business remodeling is underway. You will not be disturbed by construction works or disrupted plumbing nor heating. However the business is run offering overnight rooms only service.

The rooms are clean, airy, ensuite, set into beautiful countryside. Breakfast is not offered, the restaurants and bar are closed for that form of businesses. We used the facility and found it adequate, inexpensive, clean, quiet. It's not for everyone but if you have time for a chat, ease of parking, quiet surroundings a big clean bed in a bright airy room, then this is a bargain. We had two weekend nights Sat & Sunday totalling less than 80 for two people. Value. TD

It was basic for a one night stay. The room was big enough for us the bed was comfortable for the price paid. The telly worked too though some other residents had stolen the remote so had to get up to change station. All in all a good stay

I'm going to give this a 5* instead of maybe 3 or 4 because certain things made up for the obvious faults here. The hotel itself is a beautiful old building with the reception area so lovely and vintage. The rooms however are dated and have some work needed. The rooms also need better cleaning. The manager is absolutely lovely and helpful though and I could see he was working very hard. All in all for the price it's a lovely little hotel and we will be back in a month

Run down and dirty, man who runs it opened door in dirty clothes with rips in it, if we hadn't paid upfront I'd have walked away. Owner slept in room next door to.the room we was in and was banging around all night. Place didn't have anywhere to eat or drink and no heating either just a electric heater which didnt work. All the building was closed down accept one part and there was boxes of food and other things cluttering up the hallway and tables, bedding and the whole.place was and smelt damp. I'd avoid this place at all costs.

Very nice hotel years ago, probably. This hotel needs refurbished. Outdated furniture, broken remote control. Shower tap stock on hot water, couldn't shower after a day of work. Not very clean. Very very cold. Over night I was starting to think if is gonna be wormer to sleep in may van. I had the filling that I'm sleeping in a igloo. The manager a nice gentelman 10 stars for him.

AVOID THIS HOTEL AS PER OTHER REVIEWS.Turned up at 1430 hrs one car in large car park, lady was leaving hotel and informed politely that the owner was not in and I would have to wait till he returned. She phoned him and told her to put me in room 2. This she did but told me I was the only one the premises and if I shut the front I was locked out until he returned.

After checking my room which was in a desperate need for refurb I decided to cut my losses and left leaving a note for him (Adam) on the desk. Please do not book this hotel unless you're skint.
