The Black Horse Inn is a family owned and operated charming restaurant with rooms, the property dates back to the 17th century and sits at the heart of the historic village of Clifton. The property retains many of the features that give it that "Old Worlde Charm", original oak beams, open fires and a beautiful secluded courtyard. The Black Horse Inn has developed an enviable reputation for a warm welcome, excellent cuisine and a service standard described as convivial yet not obtrusive.
The Head Chef and his highly qualified team work closely with the owners to create new and exciting dishes whilst retaining some of the more traditional and simple choices from a menu which changes seasonally and takes advantage of locally sourced produce.

The Black Horse Inn, was exactly what I was hoping for, after a long day working, in nearby Dewsbury. Had I not already booked my accommodation elsewhere, I would have liked to have stayed at the Inn, so maybe next time. The landlord & staff, we're very pleasant, the real ale was excellent, as was the food and the background music. I would certainly visit again, if I was visiting the area.

Our 3rd attempt at marrying due to covid finally happened on Christmas Eve 2021 and it was absolutely perfect. Lydia the wedding organizer is second to none and nothing was ever too much trouble, the food was outstanding, staff were brilliant and attentive and the venue is just so charming, everything we wanted for our Christmas wedding. Thank you to all the team, we truly had the best day ever! Mr & Mrs Metcalfe
