The Ben View is a non-smoking family-run hotel with nine en-suite rooms just 2km. west of the tranquil, scenic village of Strontian. We pride ourselves on our warm welcome and our friendly, local staff. At the eastern opening of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, the most westerly point on the British mainland, and overlooking Loch Sunart, we boast the most stunning scenery, history and sheer abundance of wildlife in the United Kingdom.

It's far easier than it ever has been before to go on holiday or travel for business and avoid staying in a typical chain hotel. Often, if you're struggling to find somewhere to stay on a trip that's right for you, it'll be because of the words that you're using. Many hotels don't describe themselves as hotels anymore - at least not on their websites!
Online reviews have completely changed the way that people think about and book places to stay around the world. While TripAdvisor and other independent travels review websites have generally been a boon for the independent and savvy traveller they have, in some cases, become victims of their own success.
Not everyone has the opportunity to stay in a luxury hotel so if this is a new experience for you, then here are a few tips that will help you to make the most of every moment. The front-of-house staff will seen to be representing the brand of the hotel. If they look unprofessional, then guests will have a negative view of the entire establishment.

We did not stay in the hotel but went for dinner. My girlfriend and I were visiting the Highlands during the off season, and Covid, and we did not anticipate that finding food would be such a challenge. Our B&B sent us to Ben View in case they would be open. They weren't, however Graham was still there, and was one of the kindest person I met in my entire life.
We chatted for quite some time and he's offered to make us food anyway with what he still had, and it was amazing. Saying that he went the extra mile is an understatement, he literally stopped everything he was doing and cooked us dinner, with his own words - "I will not let you starve Mike, that is not an option". Graham, thanks again, I hope our paths will cross again!

Superb place! Spent there one night with my wife and my 2 years old child, in a cottage fully furnished, host Graham was super-friendly and heplful. Cottage was spacious, warm and cozy. And it was a fantastic value for the cheap price it costed! I strongly suggest this as a holiday accommodation, or for those which need to spend longer time in Strontian.
