Went to the Bell Hotel as they were still serving food at late afternoon (4-430pm). I chose a steak cooked to medium rare and my wife chose a burger. Both meals were presented well and were cooked in a timely (not rushed nor too long) manner. Taste wise, both meals were full of flavour, tender and suitably filling. Service was friendly and attentive.
We didn't stay in a room as we only popped in for dinner, so I can't comment what it's like to stay overnight in the hotel. If the restaurant part was anything to go by, I would imagine it's a good night to be had there.

From the set menu for large bookings, I had prawns with mango and chilli to start, roast beef for main and brownie for dessert. The starter and dessert were lovely, however the beef was a bit tough. The staff were very good on the night though, we had a party of 60+ people and it ran smoothly from start to finish which was much appreciated by all, thank you.

Great hotel! Really should be four star. Food is really excellent, especially the breakfast! Attentive staff who always have a welcoming smile. It is right by the river which offfers up great walks, especially to sandwich beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days there and would highly recommend it.

A basic hotel in a good location. Only 3 hotel parking spaces so you have to park in a pay and display down the road. Rooms are okay but a bit tired. Noise travels from room to room so not great if you have a noisy neighbour which I did. Breakfast is good but the dinner menu is limited and and my two meals were below average. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This was a very nice hotel, comfy bed, relaxing room! The running hot water left a little to be desired, took over 3 minutes to get hot in the hand basin but shower was totally fine. We ate in the restaurant too - food was tasty though lots of items on the menu were unavailable. Strange idea of delivering the bread at the same time as the starters, so I wasn't happy with that. The other thing is that no member of staff wore a mask so extremely few guests wore masks when moving around either

Absolutely fantastic hotel. We came as a family of four with our Cocker Spaniel. From start to finish the staff were amazing! Made us all feel so welcome, they were wonderful with our dog, she even had her own sausage for breakfast in the morning! Aside from the dog aspect, the hotel and room were spotlessly clean throughout. We ate three meals in the restaurant during our stay and all of them were fantastic. Great food, great staff, great with the dog and kids. Really top notch establishment! Class!

No complaints from me. Popped in for a opportune lunch, not booked. Fantastic attentive service and wonderful food at a competitive price. Relaxed and informal atmosphere, which is lovely and welcoming. Five well earned stars to The Bell and especially the staff. Cannot wait to revisit when I am next in the area.

Popped into the Bell on a Sunday whilst visiting Sandwich. We ordered the Roast.comfortable surroundings and the menu looked inviting. We left thinking that the Roast did not do justice to what otherwise looked a nice place. Why do do many eateries struggle with roast potatoes? It should be the easiest meal on the menu as it's pre prepared and vegetables should come out with the meat and not several minutes after.
We felt a bit deflated by a roast not hitting the spot. Shouldn't be too hard to put things right so I hope this feeds back to the kitchen that we want quality Roast served on Sundays as everything else was fine.
