St. Giles House fell into a period of disrepair following the Second World War and appeared on the English Heritage "Buildings at Risk" register. In 2010 we embarked on a project to bring the house back to life. What started as a simple plan to move the family back into the house developed into a full 5 year restoration project that is still ongoing.
The restoration has since won several awards including: the 2014 Georgian Group Awards for the Restoration of a Georgian Country House, the 2015 Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Award for Building Conservation, the 2015 Historic Houses Association/Sotheby's Restoration Award and the Historic England Angel Award, Best Rescue of a Historic Building or Site.

Simply put, the best wedding venue you could ask for! The staff are so attentive and helpful! Lottie and Kitty in particular were first class. They were so supportive during some difficult situations (storms and Covid) but they were completely unflappable. Always ready to help and kind! The venue itself is stunning, there is so much to enjoy! If you are planning on having a wedding at St Giles you won't be disappointed! It was everything we wanted, and more!

Wow wow wow! My husband & I have just returned from our incredible wedding at the gorgeous St Giles House. To say we had the best time is a massive understatement and I'm not sure I could ever put into words how special but also easy it was for us to relax and leave things in the most capable hands of Caitlin and Emmanuel. Their knowledge, helpfulness and friendship helped to make the day run so smoothly and ensured we could concentrate on having a fantastic wedding and party afterwards.
Everyone that was involved in our stay, from the breakfast team in the Riding House, to the suppliers and the team at St Giles were excellent. The decor in all the rooms is out if this world and the beds in the Riding House were so comfortable, we all struggled to get up in the mornings! The wedding itself flowed seamlessly and when we went down to the speak easy bar and cellar club for the evenings party, it just blew our guests minds and I'm pretty sure they didn't want to leave! Thank you St. Giles House & Team for giving us a wedding we will never forget.

St Giles House has to be the most stunning wedding venue I have ever visited, and I have visited a lot! Where do I start? On the approach down the drive you are blown away by the impeccable gardens, and extensive wildflower meadows before you even reach the house itself, where you really do feel like royalty as you step through the door. What I love most about the house though is the way that it has been beautifully restored, with the beautiful colours and hues of the original fixings, paintwork and wallpaper allowing the history to shine through, a real step back in time and in to the lives of the Shaftesbury family, and completely unique as a wedding venue.
The library where the wedding breakfast takes place is filled with beautiful books and a huge literary history, the shell filled grotto is a delight, and then of course there is the incredible dance floor and nightclub in the cellar, which you would never know was there, again creating a completely unique atmosphere not seen at any other wedding venue. St Giles House really does stand out as a unique venue, and the attentiveness of the staff and their impeccable attention to detail is the icing on the cake.

I have had the honour of providing florals for many weddings at St Giles House and it remains one of my favourite venues in all of the UK. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive and it really is one of the most unique and beautiful places to get married. The attention to detail and design is unrivalled. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a wedding venue.

St. Giles House is a fantastic location for a wedding, providing not just an evocative Renaissance country house environment but also a degree of aesthetic eclecticism that will delight creative souls, combined with an atmosphere that makes one feel completely at liberty to make oneself at home. Having attended a couple of weddings there, I have found it to be a place of great warmth and visual appeal.
