The White Swan Hotel

Only had dinner here dud not stay, meal was fantastic beautifully cooked and presented, Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely.

Having dined here twice in a week it seems good service isn't just a fluke having exceptional care shown over both visits. Engaging staff, who all clearly love what they do makes all the difference and it shone through that they care about what they are doing. Menu pricing is very good especially considering just how appetising the dishes with a surprisingly wide range of fish dishes on offer.

All courses came at the temperature they were meant to indicating nothing was sitting around having been prepared. Without doubt a place I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone in the vicinity of Pickering looking to eat well and the convenience of having ample onsite parking so no traipsing around trying to find a spot on a nearby street is very welcome.

They fit me in with a smile at the last minute and dished up the most amazing roast beef dinner. The service was incredible and the portions plenty and hot. I had the best time!

I've been going in the White Swan for well over 20 years. Unfortunately the bar and choices have gone way down hill. The drinks choice is exceptionally limited and the refurbishment has transformed, what was, a comfortable, cosy place into a dotted wallpaper hell. The only amusement was pretending I was in a massive 'magic eye' picture hoping to be spotted and let out. Sorry folks you've tarnished a gem rather than polished it.

Went for an evening meal on recommendation of the hotel we were staying at. Lovely old coaching inn with very friendly attentive staff. The food was amazing with good sized portions. I had the lamb for main and my husband had the sirloin steak both cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend coming here for a meal it will not disappoint.

This place didn't disappoint, after calling in for what we agreed was for one drink we stayed for a few and had s meal too. The staff were welcoming and friendly in this historic establishment. Food.roasted beetroot with goats cheese was fabulous, I like starters while my wife likes desserts. Mains.sirloin steak which was very tasty according to my wife, and I had the battered cod which overflowed the plate and was very fresh, the mushy peas were fantastic, I don't know how they can make them so tasty. Desert, my wife went for the parsnip ice cream, this was made on site by the chef and it certainly tasted of parsnip, very nice. Overall I would highly recommend anyone to visit the White Swan for a quality meal in a we'll run establishment.

The room was great and I was able to park my car right outside the room itself. Underfloor heating was a nice touch. The food in the restaurant was also very good, having tried both the breakfast and evening meal. Would stay again! :

Had a great overnight stay here, our room was lovely and spotlessly clean. We had our evening meal in the restaurant the food was delicious and the service was top class. The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were so on the ball! Will definitely be returning very soon.

Wonderful 16th century Inn with lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great staff who couldn't do enough for us. Beautiful rooms and some are dog friendly. Delicious food cooked to a high standard. The location is right in the centre of Pickering so great for getting the steam train for a day out. We will definitely be returning.

Great place to visit, biker friendly, ample parking, staff were friendly, professional. although we didn't eat, the coffees were awesome. The locals made use feel welcome. We spent new years eve at the white swan pickering It was our 2nd stay at this lovely hotel. We were welcomed warmly like friends. The new years banquet was delious from the 1st course to the 5th. Each dish served with a different wine. And beginning with champagne and canapes in the cost bothy room. The night closed with fireworks and champagne. A perfect night.

As usual the staff are second to non. We will be back soon to try the Sunday night stop over with a roast dinner. Thank you to everyone at the white swan for a lovely new years eve. From June and peter west and of course Louis our little dog who is treated so well. See you soon

Had the most warming, friendly, fabulous feasting for the Christmas break. Staff are wonderful and the food is outstanding. A real delight and memories to treasure.

We've been a couple of times now and have booked in again. It's perfect for relaxing. It is spotlessly clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend.

Exemplary dining experience, great staff, young but on point, fab menu, mostly local produce. Desserts are luxurious and excellent wine. Can't wait to return

Spent several visits at the White Swan, over the years, the last being in 2008. Delighted to say that the standard of accommodation, breakfast and meals were still excellent. Small things like a card saying "hope you enjoy your stay" and treats for our dogs, just made the stay even more special. Will certainly not be waiting another 13 years for a return. Well done, to all at the White Swan.

This was a return visit after a couple of years. Everything was as before with first class accommodation, friendly and helpful staff and excellent food. Well worth a stay if in the area.

Should have been a 5 star review. Food and atmosphere lovely. Only issue was I asked if pudding had alcohol in it as I'm allergic to alcohol. Serving staff said no but when it came the cherries where soaked in alcohol.

The atmosphere was very nice and homely I thought. All the staff were very polite and did a very good job when I was there. I had the Mushroom soup for a starter and then a sirloin steak - both were extremely delicious! Next time I'm in Pickering I'm definitely booking a table here again. Highly recommended.

What a fabulous pub, we stayed there for a night with our dogs. The room was lovely the bed was incredibly comfy, good pilllows too! The food was great and the service was excellent. Friendly staff who went out of their way to help you. Highly recommend

After change of the management the restaurant is no longer worth a visit: poor quality, high prices!

A great roaring log fire (it's November) a crisp Pinot Grigio and great food. I'll say no more!
