Had a weeding here 3 weeks ago. The location is lovely, however, the room that the bride and her wedding party were getting ready in, which cost 250 was dirty. The carpet was covered in stains. The walls were marked with grease, the sofa had all the springs broken in it. Asked for a cleaner and nobody came to the room. To top it all off upon arrival they had the wrong surname on the wedding itinerary. think twice before booking this venue

Fab place, rooms lovely, spotlessly clean, bed and pillows perfect, facilities great, food excellent, lovely staff in all areas. Great value for money. Only 2 negatives, they say the facilities shut at 9pm but they close it at 8.30pm, not quite sure why? And because it's a wedding venue it means alot of late night drinkers coming through the hallways, walls very thin so you can hear everything.

We didn't get alot of sleep due to this. However, this wouldn't put me off returning, I do think they should try to keep wedding guests at one end of the hotel if at all possible.

This was listed in a Norwich food guide pre covid and we thought we would give the Sunday Carvery a try. As we reached the building we noticed how outdated it looked and certainly not like any other golf resort I had ever visited. Upon entering there was a strong smell and decor to match walking into an elderly person's care home. We were very surprised, however we didn't want to judge as the kitchen aren't in charge in decor so the food could be amazing.

We somehow navigated our way to the restaurant, which again matched the poorly outdated decor and was seated. Like any other establishment our drinks orders were taken then so many minutes later we were told we could go up to the Carvery. When I looked at the Carvery you could clearly see it had been sat there a while, which I have experienced before in some places.

There wasn't much on offer by means of vegetables and the gravy was a water consistently like I'd poured a tap and added a brown food colourant. We went to our tables to still not have our drinks and I looked down at the plate with low expectations. The food looked dried out and certainly tasted dried out, lack of flavours, rock hard vegetables. Not one piece of what was on my plate tasted edible.

I called the manager over as there was no way I was eating anything on my plate, and I was starving! She asked what was wrong, despite me saying all of it was disgusting, and so I went through every item on my plate: Turkey was dried out and rock hard, gravy was water and light brown, roast potatoes had been reheated and been sat a while and got hard, cauliflower cheese was so hard my fork nor knife will cut it (and I showed her a demonstration) and the cheese sauce is just like the gravy - water, the broccoli was like the cauliflower and the Yorkshire pudding - wow - I've never tasted anything like it.

I asked what recipe the chef was using or was his flour severely out of date as it tasted like plasticine from school, like the play-doh and to finish it off the sausages were still pink inside so I didn't feel comfortable eating it considering the state of everything else on my plate. I offered to pay for the drinks of course but no way at all would I pay for any of that food.

I tried everything on the plate but could not take more than one bite of it, it was that bad. The manager took the plate, said she'd speak to the kitchen and agreed that I would pay for just the drinks. Do not even entertain this place for a Carvery! I would also like to point out that I travel the country for work and I write a lot of reviews, both good and bad.

It was an experience, overall the accommodation was excellent, food very good, staff excellent, Valley golf course greens were not done to a good standard, very bumpy. Wensum course was slightly better but gets a lot of golfers through it and could be a slow round, nice back nine with lots of water and wildlife.

Stayed for a golf tour, played the Wensum course. Good course, back 9 very picturesque and interesting with lots of water and wildlife. Our room was enormous with 4 beds which was a bonus. Decor was clean functional and more plug sockets would be a bonus but had a bath and separate shower. Walls not the thickest but didn't have a problem. Iron provided on request.

Evening meals were very good, breakfast good, very tasty bacon and sausages. Would have benefited from greater variety of fruit, and some plain Greek yoghurt. Staff helpful accommodating friendly and seemed to have good camraderie/team spirit. Restaurant would benefit from a refresh, chairs looking a bit tatty. Large lounge for sitting. Had BT & Sky sports on in evening.

Also dart board and pool and two snooker tables. Leisure club welcome addition. Very well equipped gym for the size of hotel. 12.5m pool nice for a dip, sauna steam and jacuzzi for relaxing, friendly local gym members. Unusual beer selection. Wherry nice, Doom bar. I find Madri a bit bland but ok. Guinness etc. Good range of whiskeys. Pleasant place to stay, eat, relax and play golf.

Great venue. Can't thank staff enough. Every member were so helpful and friendly. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Maybe a bit of maintenance needed in some areas but nothing drastic. Would definitely recommend as a wedding venue

Excellent location for a wedding or a society golf break. We attended a well arranged wedding and reception there this week. Staff particularly helpful and polite. Rooms a bit basic but at 80 for 2 people sharing B&B included very good value. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night. Very good and at 25 for 4 courses again good value. Golf course looked busy and challenging, perhaps a bit hilly in places.

Was a nice stay, would have been better if it wasn't for the wedding party of drunken cokeheads waking everyone up at 11pm, 2am and 5am. Complained at 2am but nothing happened. Seriously if you are staying at the weekend make sure you have space on either side of your room. I'd say paper thin walls but paper would block out the noise more efficiently than whatever they are made of now.

We had an overnight stay at the hotel last weekend for a birthday celebration. It was all fabulous. There were 27 of us and nothing was too much trouble. The communication before hand was always very prompt, the meal was excellent, and all of the staff are so helpful especially Jane and Megan. We all had a fantastic evening and would highly recommend this Hotel, Golf and Country Club.

We were here on 7/12/21 for a family members wedding. The staff were friendly and accommodating and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms for the service and reception were beautifully decorated and the food was amazing. All in all it was a wonderful place to celebrate the marriage. We stayed in the family room and it was clean, extremely comfortable and warm, we were very comfortable during our stay. Thankyou.
