Services
A short journey from Girvan lies Culzean Castle and Country Park, often described as the 'jewel in the crown' for The National Trust of Scotland. Designed by Robert Adam in 1777, it offers romance and culture in a stunning package, built on a cliff top and marvellously restored. Offering beautiful gardens, adventure playground, period furnishings and a deer park, it is a delight to explore.
Stayed at the Royal hotel for two nights while visiting parents in Girvan. A Spacious, cleane and comfortable room with everything you need tea coffee making facilities, large range of toiletries, TV etc. It was a clear morning with a lovely view of the Ailsa Craig. Nice en suite room at the top of the hotel.

Room was clean and had everything we needed. Decor a bit tired and the place could do with some updating, but given the hard time hospitality have had because of the pandemic I think you could give them a by-ball. The owners had left a lovely breakfast in the room for us, with fruit, yoghurt, cereal and pastries for the morning as well as the usual tea/coffee facilities.

If you're looking for 5-star luxury, it's probably not the place for you, but if you need somewhere to put your head down for the night before travelling on, then it was spot on.

Good for couple days, but not to spend long time. No lift, poor breakfast inside room, water is being guzzled very slow in shower.

We were greeted by Paul the owner on arrival. The room was cosy warm and clean, bed was big and comfy. En-suite bathroom and shower, water was nice and warm. Continental breakfast with loads of fruit, cereal, croissants, butter and jam, fresh milk and OJ everymorning everything was replenished as needed. Great stay all this and stunning scenery. Well worth a visit. Thanks Paul.

Good continental breakfast and large room, great shower but bed was too soft for us and gave us a bad back. Thats just our opinion on the bed everything else was fine.

Nothing royal about this place, cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, both in terms of the room and the dining. Stink of cannabis was very strong. Also house keeping left our room unlocked whilst valuables were left in room. Wouldn't recommend at all

Right from the start we began enjoying the break. Paul the owner made us feel welcome. He cooked us both excellent evening meals. The room was lovely with an ensuite And the breakfast beautifully cooked. We intend to go back in the summer and to stay for longer. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone.

We had an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast for 2 on a groupon deal for 79 and to be honest we can't complain really, sky tv in each room, bed comfy and en suite in working order, bar prices are fair and staff friendly, Paul who I guess is the owner was straight forward and helpful. The main plus point is the food, good portions and made perfectly, the breakfast particularly.

Tried to speak to someone about a booking which was cancelled only to be told that they had assumed that it was cancelled by the customer, which it was not, and cannot supply any details about the cancellation. The member of staff then told me that he didn't have time to deal with this problem as he was serving customers and the preceded to hang up on me.

I then phoned again and spoke to a lady who would not speak to me directly as it was not a booking for myself but a family member. This I understand but they don't think there are any questions that need to be answered and think that they have no responsibility over the cancellation or as to how the problem came about. Who cancelled the booking? To add insult to injury rooms for the same place are still being advertised even though the customer was told that there were no rooms available.

Even though they are supposed to be in the service industry they are unwilling to give any acceptable details and are not even willing to provide help solving this. As far as I understand things, a booking has been cancelled but nobody can prove that this was actually done by the customer, they just assumed it was them. Surely this is not correct and that they should be able to provide better details.

They appear to have washed their hands of any responsibility. The response I received during my first call to them was not only very unhelpful but also extremely rude. I have no doubt that this is a scenic /nice place to stay but unfortunately after speaking to some of the staff there I can only say that I hope visitors are treated with more decency than I was.

Stayed here in a family room on Saturday night. Rooms were clean and spacious with superb views out the front and back of the double aspect room on the top floor. Plus the food was awesome! Family run business and the owners were very friendly and couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel to stay in. We will definitely be returning! Would highly recommend.
