When the UK, and in particular Lancashire was a dominant force in cotton manufacture, Adam Dugdale, a wealthy cotton mill owner, built Rosehill House in Burnley in 1856. The mansion would have provided a luxury setting overlooking the valley in which Burnley is located. The mansion went through several changes of ownership, including the mayor of Burnley and also the home guard during the Second World War.

Services
Dugdales restaurant retains many of its original period features, with its hand painted gold leaf ceilings and extravagant fireplaces. The atmosphere in Dugdales is a little formal, but is still a long way from a stifled fine dining experience. We would like to think that the service is friendly and attentive but in no way obtrusive.
The Rosehill House welcome makes you feel as though you are living in your own country house, with all the facilities that implies. The Hotel features 34, individually designed bedrooms. All of our bedrooms are equipped with wi-fi as are our public rooms. We also offer daily room service and a hearty English breakfast.
Rosehill House is favoured by couples looking for exclusive use of the hotel for their wedding day. With a focus on quality food and inventive menus, it is renowned for excellent cuisine, dedicated service and individual attention to detail. From the grandest of affairs to the most intimate of family gatherings.
With 3 differing meeting rooms all boasting natural daylight, we can provide facilities for an intimate interview or seminar for up to 75 people. From the moment you make your enquiry until the time you leave the hotel, there will be a nominated member of our team to assist you: whether it's advice on menus or room layouts or dealing with those last minute needs.
Rosehill House Hotel is situated only half a mile south of Burnley town centre, just off the A682, easily accessible via the M66, M62 and M65. Alternatively, trains from the central station in Burnley connect with mainline services at Manchester and Preston. The hotel is ideally located for touring the Trough of Bowland, Ribble Valley and Bronte Country.

Because if you say anything different the manager will respond on Google and lie about your behaviour to cover up for their shortcomings. So shocked at the response to my honest review but that will teach me. So what I will say is be careful, the management show their true colours if you look at their responses to any criticism they attack the people writing them on a personal level which is very unprofessional.

We had our wedding here. We wanted a local business and having a beautiful, indepent location really made it perfect. The management are fantastic, accommodating and attentive, the building is full of character and the location is convenient. I can't recommend this place enough over the bland and soulless chains.

Room was OK, comfy bed. Staff were great and friendly. The one meal I had there was nice. The room could do with a couple of paint touch ups, more like a couple of tins for the full building, it's looking a bit shabby. Bathroom could do with an upgrade and modernising. The room was serviced daily. Restaurant was closed on Sunday. No free bottled water. Business trip.

We have just enjoyed a three night stay at Rosehill House. We booked an executive room (we were assigned a four poster) and a single room. What a beautiful hotel. So much character everywhere, inside and out. Our room was really clean. No dust, dirt, crumbs or stains anywhere. The room was perfectly serviced everyday. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always on hand if we needed anything.
We had a wonderful member of staff looking after us for breakfast. We walked into Burnley town centre (20 mins downhill) a couple of times. Gorgeous views across the hills. Really cannot fault this hotel. Would definitely stay again. Hard to think of any negatives. Personal negative - the mattress was too soft - but that's personal choice. No other down sides for us. All positive things to say about Rosehill. Fantastic little boutique hotel. 5 star. 10/10

Friendly staff, nice restaurant. Good breakfast. But the 3 stars is for the bedroom. Booked an executive suite. I think we got the raspberry sweet. In the gods as I would call it, the roof space. You had to duck getting out of bed to go to the toilet. Very cold even with the radiators on full. Bed was uncomfortable. It was really bad weather on the way up to the hotel. So it was late when we booked in, we probably could of asked to change, as we were going to a concert, we didn't have the time.
