The Red Lion Hotel is somewhere I have not been to for many a year. Once upon a time it was one of the places to drink in. So as I was staying with a friend in Spalding it was the ideal opportunity to check it out. The bar is good with ample seating both inside and out and the atmosphere excellent with a nice friendly feel to it. Prices a little more expensive than up near Leeds but acceptable all the same.
I was very pleased with the toilet facilities, clean and fresh smelling which to me makes a lot of difference. Didn't try the restaurant but with quite a few ppl in it was obviously popular. All in all I enjoyed my visit.

Probably the best pub in Spalding! Expect a pretty traditional setting, in the center of town, a older gentlemans daytime hide away, yet very multicultural in the evening and sun trap out the front when its sunny. From the expected beers, wines and shorts, to a rotation of quality ales and IPAs! The only downside is I've yet to find the time to eat here since they changed management and did a complete kitchen/menu revamp, because the food smell can occasionally waft through to the bar and smells awesome! The staff are "ok", if you like staff that have work here for years and will give you a bit of banter once they get to know you

Booked a meal for four in the restaurant for Sat 12th March approx 6 weeks in advance. We arrived on time & was immediately told there would be a 25min wait after ordering, which we accepted. 30mins after arrival the waitress still hadn't taken our order so we called her over who said 'could we give her a few mins'. Another 15mins later we asked the waitress if we could order our food, who responded by saying ' the chef would kill me if a took on another order at the moment, sorry we are very busy could we wait a little longer'. 1 hour after arrival we left the restaurant without even ordering our food or seeing any staff member to say we were not waiting to be served any longer.
Very poor customer service on the night & not even a courtesy phone call afterwards to apologize. Heard locally food good, shame restaurant never gave us the opportunity to taste it!

Stayed at Red lion spalding last night. Lovely well kept hotel with immaculate cleaning services throughout hotel and rooms. Staff are welcoming as well as a fantastic welcoming customer base. Friendly welcoming great relaxed casual atmosphere. We stayed in room 21, excellent size, twin very comfy beds clean fresh room. Dog friendly which we love and carpets hygiene of hotel exceptional.
Just want to say parking is a few yards away I don't have any faults with the Red lion, I definitely stay again.excellent service, hotel is identical to how it is listed on booking.com and other Web pages. Thankyou we will be back to your little town. Sam and Jerry.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Beautifully cooked and presented - if you have not tried the Red Lion recently would highly recommend it - if I had to be critical and this is really nit picking I would have preferred a slightly smaller portion of sticky toffee pudding and larger portion of ice cream - both were delicious though

It was my first time here so can only comment on one day's lunch. We all had the open sandwich fish coujons on foccacia bread with a side of chips and buttered vegetables. It was all very nice except some of the chantonay carrots looked bruised and unwashed although all pleasantly cooked. Staff were mostly friendly and polite. There was only us 3 in the restaurant part, which was nicely set out and clean.
