Horrific! No-one there on arrival. Tiny, dated, unclean room. Disposable cups washed and put out for us to use. Gross! Broken tiles in bathroom. Heating on when it's 25 degrees outside. Room was roasting. Old uncomfortable mattress. Heard every move of other guests and doors closing. Tried to charge us 48 for a wine and vodka coke on the bar. All white wine and bottled coke etc not refrigerated so was warm. Ice machine broken. Breakfast was OK (what was there) and showers were good. 130 for this hole is unacceptable! Do not stay here!

We had a lovely 2 night stay in this unique hotel with great character and charm. The owners and staff where great, friendly and helpful when needed. The receptionist took us to our room once we checked in and I personally loved the old style decor this hotel made our stay in Scotland more amazing. some bits need a little touch up and fix but overall we had an amazing stay in a great location and perfect view.
The breakfast was lovely and cooked perfectly. We did have a slight problem with the hot water but understandably its a old hotel and the whole experience for us was a perfect so we will be coming back in the summer.

Me and my partner went in for a meal on 20/04/2022 at 6:30 we didn't have high expectations as they have only opened a week ago, when we went in the place was dark and gloomy and had a really horrible smell, we got sat down at our table next to the window and our lamp was barely working was very dull compared to the rest and window sill was very dusty and had cobwebs on the window itself, we ordered our food and didn't have much of a wait but when I received my salmon it was very salty and underneath I had a massive pile of veggies that where so random and didn't taste very nice with the brown coloured sauce that they where covered in, and 2 wee thin slices of roasted like potatoes that were soggy due to the pile of veg I had ontop of them, my partners chicken was beautiful but mine really was a let down, we then ordered 1 banoffie pie and the biscuit base and edges where very hard and flavourless, my partner and I struggled put our spoons in the pie with the hardness and left it as it just wasn't good at all (personal opinion) we then went up to the till and asked for the bill, too see that it came up to 52!
My plate was just veg and 2 thin soggy slices of potatoes and a tiny piece of salmon, and our 2 cans of coke came up to 7 alone. Honestly was a bit let down and we where very disappointed with the over all experience and food. Hope that it gets better as the prices they charge u expect a good meal out of it, we don't have a problem paying the money but we would have been happy to do it if the place wasn't dirty dark smelly and the food was good.

Such a quaint and lovely stay! Loved the tartan all over the halls and the rooms, and the bar/restaurant area was great as was the food. Very cozy lounge area as well. Beds were comfy. Only negative was that the rooms were quite cold and the heaters don't produce much heat. Would recommend for a quick stay!

Dated hotel in need of a refurbishment but was good value for money. The restaurant has great food (surprisingly so) and the staff are extremely welcoming, especially at the front desk. Easy parking, comfortable enough bed with all the mod cons I needed except good WiFi coverage. You'll get no reception in majority of rooms. Child friendly hotel.

This was our second hotel on our contiki tour. The hotel is family run and quite dated though they've made an effort to make it nice. Our room was musty smelling but clean with a nice balcony. We did have issues in our room with water pressure and temperature (took a really long time to heat up). The staff tried to fix the issue, but we were only there one night so I just shrugged it off.
We ate dinner in the hotel as part of the tour and the food was pretty decent. It's very close proximity to Loch Ness which is convenient. The hotel does have wifi but not in the rooms but the common area but doesn't have a super great signal.

WIFI/INTERNET: The only source for WIFI is in the main lobby or lounge area. WIFI is not set up around any of the rooms. This is an inconvenience, but considering the price of for each night it's not a major drawback. The speed is suitable enough to watch ice bucket challenge videos, however may slow down a bit if more than ten people are in the room using it as well.
I had no issues with this. ROOMS: The room we stayed at was clean and comfortable. Although it was a bit small, it didn't bother us because we were never there unless to sleep or drop stuff off. PRICE: 99 GBP is what it costs us for one night in a twin bed room. The price included a hot breakfast which was a plus. SERVICE: The person behind the counter took care of phone calls, check-in's and check-out's, and also served us food.
He was a busy person but did a good job. This hotel does not operate 24 hours a day, but service can be called for in case of emergency. LOCATION: The location is great because it is close by a lot of the attractions Loch Ness has to offer. A statue is Nessie is just a short walk away and there are a few restaurants in walkable distance as well. Urquhart castle is also just a couple minute drive away (which is well worth the visit while you are here).
