We booked lunch for 6 in the restaurant for a special occasion (14th May 2022) and were delighted with the food and the excellent service. All the staff were delightful. The service was prompt and attentive and the food excellent. We love the ambience of the refurbished restaurant (and the coffee shop which we have also visited several times). On a very warm and busy Saturday with the town swarming with visitors the Rutland felt like an oasis of calm.
We're only sorry that we didn't feel we could take our own champagne - corkage was quoted at 30 so we decide to drink our bottle at home after the meal. No complaints however - everything else was perfect

What a little gem of hotel the Rutland is. Wouldnt hesitate in recommending. The rooms and hotel is really lovely, beautifully furnished, but the real jewels are the staff. So friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner and breakfast whilst there. Excellent quality and the breakfast was the best vegetarian breakfast I have ever had in any hotel anywhere.

A comfortable, relaxing break in the heart of Bakewell. We had the deluxe suite, which was well-appointed and cosy, with added treats of chocolates, lovely toiletries and lots of bottled water. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. One of the best full English breakfasts I have ever had and a lovely evening meal in the beautiful dining room. Thoroughly recommended!

This hotel is well situated, however limited parking in a small car park. The room we stayed in (103) is small but lovely. Definitely on the warm side! Unable to open windows due to traffic noise. The staff were all lovely and work very hard. We were disappointed with the evening meal in the hotel, the starters weren't good, however the breakfasts were amazing. Overall we enjoyed our stay

Stayed the night last Friday, family were visiting from down South, stopped in a beautiful room in the Courtyard section of the Hotel, fabulous King size bed ensuite bathroom with a bath. Had drinks and cocktails in the bar. Didn't eat in hotel that night but breakfast the following morning was perfect. Would highly recommend and will definitely return for a meal in the restaurant sometime this year.

Lovely Hotel. Brilliant central location. Excellent Staff. Fabulous food. Car parking is extremely restricted and must be seriously considered before booking the Hotel. The room was compact but perfectly and sympathetically furnished. The bed mattress and pillows were in severe need of an upgrade to the quality acceptable to the discernable traveller in 2022. They were unbelievably antiquated and prevented a decent night's sleep.

Food was excellent, as were the young waitresses serving us who were attentive and friendly. Given 3 stars as I would suggest some of the 'management' need training. We arrived looking for something to eat and were told no walk ins available.no offer of a time was made. My wife and I however had seen the wonderful food on offer and not accepting defeat likely, managed to book online for 45 minutes later!
We returned and you could actually see the look of distaste on the young man's face.we were reluctantly (I would suggest by his demeanor) seated and we proceeded to have a lovely meal. Word of advice, if you can't at least pretend to like the hospitality trade then you shouldn't be in it.not everyone would take so kindly to your attitude!
