Services
The Adastral Hotel is family run hotel situated only 200 metres from hove seafront and its wonderful beach and only a short bus ride away from the hustle and bustle of central Brighton. The Adastral Hotel is perfect for those looking to stay in a peaceful quiet location yet still easily enjoy the vibrancy Brighton and Hove has to offer.
No. 8 Westbourne Villas was purchased by wing commander Myles when he returned from the Royal Air Force after the war. After having several owners it was acquired by the Salanson family in 1987, who extended it by purchasing the house next door and completely modernising all the rooms by providing en suite facilities and building the restaurant and licensed bar.
All of our rooms are En-Suite with either showers or baths including fresh towels, hand wash and shower gel/shampoo. Each room has a television, a hospitality tray*, a dressing table equipped with a mirror and hair-dryer, ironing board and use of an iron. Each room also has a phone which can take incoming calls and also make internal calls within the building. There is plenty of on street parking on the road directly outside of the hotel which is payable to the parking metre at a rate of 3 for four hours.
We offer a tailored rate for contractors looking for accommodation in the Brighton and Hove area. That's not to say we can only accommodate you if you are working in Brighton and Hove, we've previously had workman who have been working all over Sussex in places such as Newhaven, Horsham and even as far as Chichester.
Once every month Tony writes a short story for a local Hove magazine based on the many years of running the hotel. These short stories are a taster for an up and coming book about life in the hotel and all the crazy goings on. There has been lots of interest in the stories from the community and guests alike so we have decided to start publishing them here on our website, check back at the beginning of each month for a new instalment. In our 25 years at The Adastral we have encountered many characters, this is the story of one of the most memorable.

Sadly despite the friendliness of the staff my friend and I had a truly 'Faulty 'Towers experience. my room was really an oversized cupboard with a unique tap that showered stronger than the actual shower. The bedside lampshade was burnt and the lamp was clearly not safe to use. I gave the staff the lamp but received no replacement throughout my stay.
My friend had to change rooms because of serious shower problems and eventually accepted that when showering the bedroom would be flooded! We hoped for a good breakfast but the one lice of toast in basket we each received seemed odd - the vegetarian continental breakfast was appalling. I filled in a complaint form at the end of our stay in June this year 2017 and said I would await a response before giving a review. I have received no response, no apology and no recognition that our stay was such a mitigated disaster.

Disappointing experience all round. I cannot see how this establishment claims four stars under any recognised scheme and will be checking with the AA about the claimed four star rating. Decor in our room was poor, wallpaper peeling, chipped paint around doors and windows, only one window would open to get fresh air. One bedside lamp despite three beds.
Shower enclosure was cramped and doors stuck both opening and closing. Toilet seat does not appear to be the correct size/fitting for toilet pan. The hotel on the night we stayed appears to have been filled with dedicated clubbers; we were woken around midnight by guests leaving to go out for the night and again at regular intervals from 4am onwards by returning guests and people sitting outside shouting.
This continued until around 7am when we finally managed to sleep until 8.30. No breakfast included despite advertised inclusive rate. Staff dismissive of complaints and disinterested seemingly in customer satisfaction. Bedsheets were clean however!

If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful room/hotel then I recommend this hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful. They try to accommodate as much as they can to make it a lovely experience and see you to your room to make sure that everything is ok. The rooms themselves are ok for the price that you pay and cannot be argued with. Compared to hotels 5 minutes down the road which start in the region of 150-250 just for a night.
Breakfast is decent enough in the morning and you can easily get your monies worth of food. Parking outside the hotel is limited with a pay machine directly outside, 4 for 4 hours. After 8pm parking is free but you have to be quick otherwise spaces get filled up very quickly. That said you can always park on the seafront on the main road. Again it's free after 8pm until 9am and not too bad if you find it close to hotel.

Have just returned from a stay at this hotel. Rooms need updating, toilet seat broken although it was replaced. I was quite surprised as they advertise being a pet friendly hotel yet our room wasn't cleaned because the maid was frightened of dogs? Had to ask for clean towels the second day as none were provided. Breakfast is served between 7-9 but don't arrive after 8 as you will not find a clean table and wait 20 minutes until a table is cleared and you are served. Poached eggs were overcooked. Very expensive for what is provided.

First off, we only stayed one night (no breakfast) and the 5 minutes of interaction with the staff was perfectly fine. The problem was the room. The bathroom smelt terrible which didn't change for the duration of our stay. The wallpaper was peeling. The waterworks were incredibly loud throughout the night and particularly in the morning. There were no towels.
The bed seemed to be made of just springs (in the uncomfortable lumpy, piece of metal in your back way). And when we woke, the room had collected a number of flies (the big black midge kind). Oh, and there's no real parking to speak of (and no way to reserve one of the two bays they do have, which you can only have for 11 hours at a time). If you're staying there more than 1 night, best not bring your car.
