Grosvenor House is situated in a quiet, central Torquay location, just behind Torre Abbey, on the stunning English Riviera. Stay with us and you're just a short walk from the Torquay beach, Torre Abbey Sands, close to the Princess Theatre, and with easy access to all of the things to do in Torquay, and a great base to explore Paignton, Brixham, and beyond.
There were many reasons why we chose Torquay as a location to buy a guest house. One major thing that struck us, was just what a wealth of natural beauty, historical places, man-made attractions, and amazing shows there are, both on the doorstep, and further afield. So, whether you are coming to the Riviera for a first visit, or return time after time, there is always a new experience waiting, for all ages. All too often, though, we find guests staying just a night or two, and finding it impossible to fit in everything they would like to do, and see.
Grosvenor House has both Superior and Standard Double and Twin bedrooms as well as Family rooms, all on the ground or first floor. All of the bedrooms are fully en suite with a shower & WC, with a range of welcome toiletries, as well as nice fluffy white bath sheets. Superior bedrooms offer you more space, with either a luxury 6ft King-size bed or 2 luxury 3ft beds and our newest, most comfortable bounceback bedding.
In our licensed bar, you can enjoy a drink with family, make some new friends, and tell us about your day. We pride ourselves on a great selection of local ales and ciders. We stock a wide range of different ales from local breweries, plus have guest beers through the year. Local ciders are here too - from two local producers, including some fruit varieties.
So when did we know that we'd made the right choice, giving up well-paid jobs, to risk it all and buy a guest house? Really, as soon as our first guest bought a lovely thank-you card. Since that day in spring 2015, we've greeted hundreds of guests in the same way. Some, of course, are just transient.

Paula & Ray were really good hosts. On arrival told us a bit about Torquay, places to visit and to dine out. The hotel was lovely, rooms were very nice and the breakfast was excellent with a good choice of menu. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Torquay, we will definitely be going back

Excellent B&B, great breakfast served between 8.15-9.15 cooked very well, 15 minute walk to harbour and the room was a good size with enough storage! It had a homely feel and the owners are very welcoming. I left an item there by mistake and they kept it to one side for me to collect a week later. Would recommend staying here. Parking was free on site also with a spot for each room.

We had a wonderful time throughout our 3 night stay. The family room was ample, clean and the beds very comfy. The location is only a couple of minutes walk away from Torquay Beach. Free parking, decent WiFi, access to the terrace and a quiet room turned a good stay into a great one. Paula and Ray were very friendly and knowledgeable and made sure all their guests were enjoying a relaxed stay. Would recommend it to anyone!

Don't think you could find better hosts, always smiling and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable with great beds. Breakfast is excellent! Just a short walk away from the beach at Abbey Sands. Ideally placed for a good selection of restaurants and bars. Buses nearby if needed or a great place for walking around the area. Really can't wait to get back again for another visit. Once a year is not enough.

Cracking hotel, central location and amazing for the family. We booked for three nights and four days stay, but decided to stay the extra night as the owners are amazing welcoming and give you the best advice for local restaurants to eat out at. However the highlight of the stay has got to be the breakfast and the in-house bar which is even better for the families that stay.
Won't be long and me and the wife and my children will be back. One thing to remember though it's of a main road so parking is limited, however again the owner's explained this and was more than accommodating on this. Would recommend this to everyone coming too Torquay as the best place too stay, forget the big name hotels as this is a face to face establishment that looks after the family.
