I stayed on a Saturday night here. On arrival staff were friendly and welcoming including free flapjack. Rooms easy to find. I shared a twin room. Looked nice kn the way in. Clean and tidy and well presented for a townhouse. Nice bath in the bathroom. The main thing was my mattress had lost its bounce and in the middle had completely sunk. My poor back in the morning and a poor night sleep.
The other mattress in room 3 was lovely. However room 1 where my other friend stayed also had the same problem with the mattress. There were quite a few noises during the night, from the stairs creaking mostly. In the morning rhe breakfast was perfect and tasty, no complaints. They were busy but they were calm and professional. Easy for catching a train at Exeter Central. Easy for a shopping trip or night out in Exeter Central.

We have booked last minute, it was perfectly fine for the purpose and the price for one night. We had a nice looking room, it was a pleasant stay, however bear in mind the walls are paper thin we could hear our neighbour sneeze and their alarm, we could hear every movement around our room from any direction plus all the windows were not really soundproof as we could hear everyone's conversation outside from the street until late night. The breakfast was really tasty and good portion. The staff was very welcoming. But unfortunately I would not necessarily go back.

Very helpful and friendly reception team - late arrival made easy. Scrupulously clean throughout. Bathrooms newly tiled, shower hot, powerful and adjustable without falling to pieces. Good towels. Single room 9 overlooking street, quiet if late night pedestrians would just shut up. WiFi throughout, USB charging sockets by bed. Superb breakfast with home made jam.

Well I've got to admit after staying in Ibis & Travelodge; this is more my cup of tea! Down to earth, proper English breakfast (didn't take my phone so no pic) but yeah it's lovely & homely, a Tudor building; the whole street is & the staff lovely people who have time to chat with you about just anything! Anyways, come stay yourself & experience a different kind of guest

Stayed here regularly for almost a year so think this qualifies me to write a review! Easily accessible and within walking distance of the town centre. Parking is limited, some at the back of the hotel approx 3 spaces + a garage, and some from 6pm 9am at the front. Usually, I managed to get a free space. There is also a lovely and well maintained pool, but sadly I never had the time nor the weather to check it out.
Some rooms are better than others, and I stayed in most of them. Always had an en suite. Always clean and always a good supply of hot water. Sometimes tricky to lug your case up four flights to the top rooms after a long day. Good breakfast included in the price, wide range and always perfectly cooked. Would stay again.
