Staff very friendly and helpful. Had problems with the booking but not the hotels fault. It was buyagift problem fault but the receptionist phoned them up and got it sorted. Room very nice but could have been a bit cleaner. Room service could have been better. Breakfast was very good staff very friendly food cooked too order. Pity the hotel only did BB

Currently staying at the Windsor over Easter. was wary after reading negative reviews about cleanliness however my concerns were unfounded. Its very clean. The room is a decent size with tea, coffee & a decent TV. There's a shower but no bath which is a shame but I'll cope! The staff are great. Laura in particular was chatty & funny. There's a bar with TV and pool table.

It's a proper old style bar, it's great. The whole place as a laid back atmosphere and it's suitable for anyone; singles, couples, families etc. A stones throw away from the beach and Turknaz. the best Turkish restaurant EVER. For the price as well. you cannot go wrong with the place.

3 stars for a reason, it is cheap and cheerful. Not as clean as it should be but you cannot beat how close you are to the seafront

While the Windsor is indeed cheap, this is very much reflected on the hotel itself. The room I was in was dirty; the floors looked like they hadn't been hoovered, there were hairs in the bath, black mould around the bathroom window, stains on the carpet that was also fraying in places. The bed had the cheapest, oldest looking mattress on it that was far from comfortable and the bed linen was torn and had holes.

And to top it all off, everything else around the hotel was worn, in disrepair and was incredibly dated. I can handle basic, but unclean? Absolutely not. I was a cleaner at several 5 star properties for many years and I can understand the level is different for a 3 star accommodation, but even a basic level of cleanliness was not apparent at the Windsor. Being rated a 3 star is generous.

Hello, this hotel is of poor quality; here is a comprehensive list why: The windows in the room and bathroom would not close 'properly'. They had a safety latch but the windows themselves would not close. This allowed the noise from the club 'Havana' across the road. To filter in to the room clearly. The carpets and furniture were obviously unclean.

There are large stains on the seating and carpet from who knows what. The hall ways have dated carpets that are coming apart at the seems in places. The lift was broken upon arrival. This continued to be fixed throughout our two day stay. This was quite loud and unsettling. As a final insult to injury; this message was written while listening, 'clearly' to a bunch of drunken individuals walk by the room along with traffic. The low price is not worth the price. This hotel is out dated, unkempt and uncomfortable. Many thanks, Will not stay again

The room was smelly like the drains, we had to swap rooms. Breakfast is a farce, the place is run by teenagers that are trying their best but have no guidance from any senior staff, we got 3 cereals but no spoons, toast but no butter, coffee for 2 which is nescafe sachets but only 1 cup, then a half hour wait for our cooked breakfast. Its a shame because it could be a really nice place and Whitley Bay is superb.

Not to bad, I've stopped in worse. But not for a while. Our room was dirty on arrival. But was cleaned when we pointed it out. The whole place is run down and tired ( and short staffed, apparently) the covid style breakfast is not a great system. Full your menu card in the night before, like in hospital. The food was not bad. But the coffee was cold both days. Free car park round back. But there are no restrictions on the street in front of you can find a space

This is the WORST place I have ever stayed.! Distgusting mattresses with multiple stains, resulting in balance sheet also stained. Pubic hair, and hairs in the bath. Stains/liquid down the radiator. Stained furnishings and carpet. Lumpy carpet. Terrible creaky floors. Ripped and stained curtains. Room smelt awful. Corridors smelt. Stained towels. Had to change room, which wasn't much better with stained mattresses.

Broken window. Dirty bathroom radiator. Broken bath panel, which I kept catching my foot on. Stained carpet. Broken lamp shade. Thread bare carpets in corridors. Unhelpful manager (Sarah) My daughter refused to stay. Ended up leaving earlier than planned! Also spoke to another guest, who said "never again" Other staff very helpful (Andria) and housekeepers friendly. Never again.! This place is a disgrace and disgusting.

Good marks for the cheery welcome and the quality and amount of paella, even on the Groupon voucher! Although the waitress called my other half a cheapskate for bringing me on my birthday which was a bit of a gamble. I felt a bit offended. A very bright room, bordering on the clinical but the jazzy carpet stops you forgetting this is a restaurant. It's a bit '80's in some ways, but we are going back for a daytime special, also a Groupon, in about a week.
